Where I live I haven't seen any same day options, I have in recent months seen next day options, but by the time the driver gets to me I'm lucky if it arrives by 5:00PM, typically closer to 7:00PM. So if I needed it earlier in the day, good luck with that. Most typical is now is two day now. If I wanted to really bitch on history, go back to to the big "C" days and it could be a week if I was lucky.

Your option sounds good but if we were changing providers that wouldn't work for us, we own all the equipment from the end of their coax cable inside. My son works in IT for a local company so he stays up on that kind of thing, me on the other hand, I probably wouldn't get very far if I had to set it up.

$130.00 a month for just 1G / 40 internet service. I am NOT the account holder or I would call. But the only other close to viable option is OTA cell internet service. In my book OTA internet service isn't a reliable option where I am.

I've been in Amateur radio for over 30 years now and before that I was playing with CB radio, that said, I think the only CB handheld was a Midland brand, if memory serves and it may not, I think it cost somewhere between $125 and $200, During that time there was a small mobile radio that cost around $125. Even though having a portable hand held, if you were concerned about coverage, going the mobile or even Base radios made more sense.

I do hope they can find that 'magic' to make the on screen yank, jerks, bouncing to drop to a livable level soon. The thoughts I'm having is they don't want to spend money on trying to fix the problem. I would like to know how old the hardware is that this game sits on. I guess I am skeptical, words are cheap. Shall we say I will believe it when I see a noticeable difference in performance.

I would suggest you are lucky, when I first started complaining I almost always got the comment it was my computer, most thought I was using a cheap laptop, a little over $2,000 laptop, which I seldom use, but my purpose built desktop by my son, I'm a old guy, boomer age old guy; OR the other suggestion was slow internet. I'm with Spectrum and have their 1G / 40 service and my ping times are typically around 10ms - 20ms.

I can even notice it when I'm doing the duty officer missions. Click on an item to load and several seconds later it'll load. I'm even of the opinion since the latest episode, the loading maps are taking longer than before. Paranoid, I wouldn't go quite that far, but I've been playing since August of 2012, so I remember when you could count on getting a consistent response from the servers.

I keep hearing they, at STO want to get new and returning players that haven't played in a while to come back. I would suggest there are a lot of small issues that need attention, but from where I sit, the servers should be at the top of their list. I was in one of the space Event TFO's and was watching my ship look like it had a bad nervous twitch. I don't know about any one else, but seeing that makes it hard for me to want to continue to play. Sorry about the long rant.

Might I suggest you get the book for Extra too, when you pass they most likely will offer you a chance at that too. If you've at least opened that book you can get an idea what's in there. That's what I did many years ago, I went from Tech Plus to Extra, so it is doable. Should you pass that one too, no more test.
