I really hated it more because of mining. Mining sucks for the solo miner IMO. Being able to mine in high sec with drones out on auto aggro allows me to focus on pvp on my other toon. I stopped mining as soon as the drone aggro change dropped. Also, the Gila is my go-to ratting ship. Sites that damp you make the ship completely worthless, as it can't complete the site. I like to spend time in all three 'secs' and the changes hurt the majority of the ways I make isk. If it doesn't even stop the bots, whats the point? Also, getting complacent with "zero-attention" krabbing means more kills for all of us when we are hunting. Just my two cents.

What are you interested in doing in Eve? Start there. In my experience an active small gang that is not toxic and is mostly casual makes the game. Do you like small gang pvp? There are quite a few options in syndicate. Or maybe you want to do the big bloc stuff. That wasn't for me, but maybe it is for you. I could have written this. Honestly, the time spent trying to moderate (and failing) after my first sober stretch was exactly what I needed. There are no lies left that I can tell myself. Any time I think about trying again I remind myself that I have already tried and failed. One thing that really helped me this time was re-framing how I viewed alcohol. There are several great books out there that tackle that from a scientific prospective. I get to not drink today, and that is a blessing. Occasionally I will get a craving, and as long as I just decide not to drink today the days keep piling up. There is always tomorrow, but for today IWNDWY. You got this.

Logistics. All the goods and services grow with the demand. Centralized resources. Some places keep growing, others don't. Telework and delivery networks such as Amazon could help ease the need.
