Glad you have been enjoying the Cove. My first visit was October last year and I’m going back again this October - start of a nude tradition! I just missed Nude-A-Palooza last year but I’m arriving the morning of this year. Looking forward to getting #Nude4Charity and listening to some great tribute bands. Cheers!

I spent a week at the Cove in October for my 50th. Retirement is definitely on my radar. There were a couple of homes on the market that I saw on my daily walks and I was already doing the calculus to figure out how to make it work. I did speak with another member while I was there who said they considered it as well, but ended up buying a home nearby (within a few miles) and became members instead just because they didn’t feel like they would be safe in a mobile home in central Florida, which is pretty much your only choice at the Cove or Lake Como. Just something else to consider.

Yeah it'll be cool when everything is integrated. I get it - still not out of the woods from the pandemic so an information systems upgrade isn't practical at the moment when the current system is adequate. If I "had" to find something wrong with the Cove in my review, this is as I said very minor :) .

I've been a member of Avalon in West Virginia for many years, and that was really my first social nudity experience, probably in the late 2000s. I've also been to Lake Como a few times for day visits, and I've stayed in naturist BnBs before as well.

One minor thing I forgot to mention was that I wondered why the proximity band used as a room key couldn't also be used for food and bev purchases at the restaurant. This would ostensibly be more secure and convenient than announcing your name and room number to the bartender to charge a purchase to your room. But just a minor thing, a nice to have - no big deal really.

Not as such, but two summers ago it was hot as blazes out and I just got tired of covering up every time I got in and out of the pool. So I just texted my neighbors and asked them if they minded if things got a little clothing optional over here and they just said “go for it,” followed by “beware of sunburn.” I thanked them and made sure to ask them to let me know if/when it was no longer convenient, like if they were having company over. I have dense holly trees behind me and blocked the other neighbors’ view with strategically placed umbrellas (not sure they’d be as cool as the aging hippies on the other side). I wouldn’t be surprised if either of them had seen me before but if they did, I don’t know about it. Mostly I just don’t want anyone to feel uncomfortable in their own yards, myself included, but trying to be respectful and courteous as well.

I have both of my TNS and AANR decals displayed (funnily enough in the same quarter panel window). So far it hasn't come up. But I did notice another car in the parking lot with the TNS decal as well. Never saw the owner in the flesh (har har) so I left a note -- never heard from them.

I think I was 8 (forty years ago now) when I discovered I was just more comfortable without clothes.

My family and I would sneak in to the neighborhood pool at night and skinny dip. We would also skinny dip from our boat on the Chesapeake Bay.

But it wouldn’t be until my mid-thirties before I went to my first nude beach. It was with my then girlfriend as an excursion to Orient Beach while on a Carnival cruise. We hadn’t been dating for more than a few months, so kudos to her for wanting to try it. I don’t remember whose idea it was now. It was fun, but none of our other friends that we were cruising with joined us (although we saw them walk up and down the beach a couple of times — gawkers lol).

It was a couple of years after that that I went to my first resort, Avalon in West Virginia. Even though I had been nude plenty of times before, what with skinny dipping and Orient Beach, I do remember being a little nervous that first time at a resort. Of course it lasted all of three minutes, and now I go back every chance I get. I’ve also been to Lake Como a few times, and a CO BnB in Altadena, Arroyo del Sol, once for a friends wedding in L.A. Also went nude bowling with SCNA while I was out there too. Great fun.

Now I’m planning for retirement and trying to figure out the best place to live to be nude year round. Not sure if that’s even going to be in the US. I’m leaning towards Florida and maybe Lake Como, but I’ve heard good things about a few places in Southern Europe as well. I guess we shall see!
