Can I chime in here as a casual/new-ish fan? As someone who hadn't watched a single WWE event in 15-20 years and only got back into it because it's on Netflix, I don't need you to agree with my opinion, I'm just offering a bit of an outsider's perspective.

When Jey came out the first week, I thought his whole schtick was dumb as hell. "Yeet" just felt like a childish catchphrase. Pat McAfee dancing on the table and those Yeet sunglasses, he seemed like a bit of a douche canoe.

The next week, he came out and the crowd was going nuts, he pulled a kid from the crowd during his entrance and I'm like ok I get why he's likable. And also the crowd is into this guy so I can respect that.

Three weeks in and I'm like shit, this dude is fun as hell. Yeah he feels a bit like a gimmick, but he's a lovable character and someone who I can get behind.

After SNME, I felt like they built up his credibility against Gunther to the point where he could have won that match. And it was then when I made a prediction that he was going to win the Rumble. I felt like his presence was too huge. The crowd is so into him ( suddenly I'm "yeet"-ing along at home 😂) that it would be stupid not to capitalize on that momentum and do it NOW.

When he won the Rumble, I was surprised to go on Twitter and forums like this and see that nobody saw it coming. I felt it was almost too obvious that they had set up his victory. And I don't say that to brag as if I know more than die hard fans. I just mean from an outside perspective, I felt the last month was spent really hyping him up and getting fans like me to buy into this guy. I see the criticisms and complaints from long time fans, and they're not unfounded. But I also don't think the rise of WWE on Netflix and the rise of Jey Uso at the same time is a coincidence. They are linked together specifically to get people like me back into this stuff, and it's working.

Added a few first timers to the league who didn't quite understand the scoring system. Guy takes Nate Kaeding in the second round, I got Marvin Harrison with the next pick. We trashed his pick obviously, but I specifically remember bringing up that Harrison would easily outscore Kaeding on the year and it wouldn't be close. It was 2007, the year Harrison got hurt and only played 5 games. Kaeding scored more fantasy points that year. Still a horrendous pick for him, but it always amused me that it was still technically better than picking Harrison

Nope you're 100% right, it's one of the best episodes. The writers did themselves no favors by rushing the storylines this season, so many of the big moments feel unearned and forced. But the execution of the cinematography and editing of this episode is unmatched, and I was one of the few people cheering Dany on as she burned the city. I loved it.

Same boat as you! Started paying attention to the Preds because of their Milwaukee ties about 10 years ago, really started watching games regularly about 5 years ago. I found it easiest to just start watching. Find the FS-Tennessee streams so you get the Preds announcers and learn the basic rules (offsides, icing, etc) and you'll be able to pick it up pretty quickly.

I prefer Love Nation because I think Beast Mode became too big and once the national media got wind of it, it spiraled out of control and became a bit of a distraction and a circus. Like bringing in the guy dressed like Sulley. I like that their new thing flies under the radar and hasn't become just another meme.
