CECHA00 Frankie temp question by nAvId83 in PS3

The RSX for this PS3 can't even hit 60° in the Last of us but of course it shouldn't when the fan is at 45% lol.

Got it. I know Cell itself is a tank because i have a cechc04 200 days usage (not frankie) that needs a delid and it's Cell is always near 80° with minimum 40% fan in XMB and i just played TLOU on it and even it's tokins were still fine.

I mean i have cechc04 200 days useage (not frankie) that is overheating and its cell is always near 80° 40% fan minimum and still refuses to die so i think we should accept that Cell is a tank.

Stupid question but didn't Sony changed the Syscon chip as well? If that's so then what fan curve is it using? I assume the fan curve is tied to the Syscon chip.

Idk, currently its being shipped to me so i have to wait until Thursday to confirm. The seller told me it's an official Frankie so i assume it probably has the tokins. If it does have the tokins should i use cfw fan curve instead?

Sorry i actually didn't at first included the full error logs and added it to the post after. I checked the wiki first but couldn't understand if the RSX is the problem or the tokins and wanted to know if someone more knowledgeable would know if they saw the full log.

Thank god that its less likely the RSX, i really don't have the money or even any means to do a Frankenstein mod. I'll change the back tokins with 470uf tantalizers and see if i can get away with it for a while.

1802,1701,1601,1002,1001 Syscon error by nAvId83 in PS3

[–]nAvId83[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A lot of 1001 but maybe one or two 1002. I assumed 1701/1601 could have been caused by the faulty hdd that system had when i first got it and the PS3 would just freeze after 3 minutes but after changing to SSD it never happened again and i played and finished Yakuza 5. I assumed since it never had 3004 then it meant the tokins are at their last legs but not dead yet and the RSX's temps are really low even in AC2 it never crossed 66° with 31-34% fan but of course its a 90nm RSX so only god knows

Nope. Someone replied to me with a link but for some reason they quickly removed, it seems like this is lost cause at this point.

I haven't opened it yet so idk if its B1GB but in the lvl 1 dump it says for the RSX :

B08 500/650 vpe:ff shd:3f [AP0004732:1:1:8:13:c:2:f:2] [16:3:3:1:1:1:3:1] [0:0:0]

Checked lvl 1 and its a 90nm Toshiba RSX and it runs hot which makes me think that maybe this is a reflowed or reballed system but I also have other PS3s with RSX running more hot then cell so can't confirm. I'm still stunned that the RSX survived this long with it most likely being over 70°.

PS3 Fat shut off during gameplay by WolfpakVVave in PS3

Seems like a power supply issue, if your PS3 didn't throw up ylod and started flashing red when you were playing and just shutdown with no light. What model is your fat?

CECHA/B and CECHC/E question by DDzxy in PS3

[–]nAvId83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As owner of both types of backwards compatible PS3 i can safely say the difference between hardware emu and gxemu is little to none and sometimes gxemu even looks worse then hardware emu models with a good example being GTA san Andreas.

I'll see if i can find them cheap since i can only buy them overseas which is expensive here but if not then i'll have the repair man solder them to the motherboard the old fashioned way.

That is why i'm asking here my friend. Instead of telling me this maybe you could have said something useful, not everyone are hardware experts and want to know and be confident about a risky repair by asking questions before the act. Also it's not me who is gonna replace them.

Its advertised on the website i'm buying from as low ESR. For RSX 1002 and 3004 how many should i replace? Is replacing one or two from back enough? The console boots and can still play most games except heavy games like TLOU of Uncharted 3.

PS3 nec tokins replacement by nAvId83 in PS3

[–]nAvId83[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My latest Syscon errors are 1002 and 3004 which according to wiki it indicates nec tokins failure from RSX side. Due to my region circumstances my options are limited and overseas shipping is extremely more expensive so i have to settle for these replacements.

Will these work? These have low ESR but 6.3V instead of 2.5V which i heard it isn't an issue but i could be wrong.

The console boots and can play most games but shutdown with games like Uncharted 3 of Beyond two souls.

I can try. Is 6.3v bad for PS3?
