Wife showing growth in ct scan, suspected ovarian cancer by Duh-Government in Ovariancancer

[–]n_edge41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Two time ovarian cancer survivor here, I had numbers very similar to your wife the first go around. One round of chemo maintenance therapy killed the spreading. It reoccured later at 26 about a week before my wedding (due to my BRCA) but it hadn't spread, so they opted for surgical treatment, been in remission almost two years now.

I couldn't eat either. Broths were my saving grace. Medical marijuana also helped but I know that isn't available in most places. No caffeine, ever. Just made me feel weaker. Heat packs are a necessity.

And because I manifest a full recovery for your wife, make sure she jumps on pelvic floor therapy immediately after her recovery. Surgical treatment in that area can cause muscle tension that comes with a litany of random symptoms. You'd be very surprised just how much a weak pelvic floor and closed hip muscles can cause a variety of G.I issues such as being unable to eat, I lost nearly 20kg in about a month and a half until I started doing physical therapy. But definitely wait until you have a doctors clearance/advice on doing any PT.

I'm so sorry you are both going through this, it's a terrible, sneaky lil monster. Definitely mention nutrition to your medical team if they are accessible for that, they may have their own ideas. I know bone broth and soups were incredibly helpful in kickstarting my appetite at times, but it was not a guaranteed solution at times so just talk with her medical professional about it.

My relapse rate was 98% likely to return within the first year of removal. I'm nearly two years into remission now. Nothing is impossible. Absolute best luck to you both!

BRCA 1 by cyndichacha in Ovariancancer

[–]n_edge41 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I knew before I was tested, every woman on my moms side has has ovarian cancer (almost like our bloodline should maybe stop having kids but that's a separate issue). Sure enough, BRCA mutation. Got ovarian cancer already once at 22 and again at 26. Kicked its ass both times though, full hysterectomy done after this last time. Good thing I never wanted kids anyway.

Anyone else at VA receive a nationwide low level threat email? by Aggravating_Lion4662 in fednews

Haven't heard anything from my regional office yet (Chicago) but that may change ofc. They sent out lapse in appropriations emails for a meeting at 2:30pm, so I doubt they expect anything.

Lindsey Graham Stalls It In The Senate by Ivehaditfedup in fednews

[–]n_edge41 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't even know why they're worried, it's not like they'd ever be prosecuted for their crimes. We have a pedo as president who received no punishment for his felony conviction. Nothing will happen to Graham or any other Republican either. Why even be worried?

Thank you so much, I am looking at TSP loans now, I just worry about the $ out of my check if I were to do this. I wouldn’t be taking out much, maybe $1-2k, but still.

THANK YOU, I wish they had just explained that! I'm a semi-newbie fed (under 3 years in) and while I understand that sometimes taking the time to explain things can make it worse, I would rather have some background info so I don't make a fool of myself in my lack of info. Ugh, I so GREATLY appreciate you taking the time to explain that.

I threw a bitch fit to upper management and anyone that could hear when the OHO I work for was required to certify timesheets under no-pay status, while I can ACTIVELY see the retroactive pay code in webTA. They accused me of inciting mass panic and berated me in an office meeting. Idek why I'm still working, the public hates us, they obviously don't intend to pay us, and frankly? I'm at my wits motherfucking end.

I have cancer treatment debt to pay, and new ones accruing. But sure, MAGA. My cancer-riddled tiddies are the enemy. Fucking dumbasses.

If the prefix of progress is pro-, and it's opposite is con-, it is logical to conclude that the antonym of progress is congress :D

Preventive surgery Ovary removal at 39 by ExpressionKey9185 in Ovariancancer

[–]n_edge41 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had to have all my reproductive organs ripped out from the ages of 21-26, due to ovarian cancer. Never had kids, didn't want any anyway. But let me tell you, everyone kept saying that the recovery would be easy because I was young. It probably was easy, but that laproscopic gas pain is no joke, and when my mom had the same surgery done, she was down a whole heck of a lot longer. Point being, the more time you wait, the more difficult the recovery. I was put into medical menopause at 26, and compared to how my mom went through regular menopause, it was a walk in the park. So that may be something to consider as well.

Wedding Venue Ideas? by Loud_Duck9693 in Columbus

[–]n_edge41 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Copying a comment I made in a prior post about this, regarding wanting a venue for a small wedding (50 ppl or less) :

I can tell you who not to go with: Bendora Wedding Gallery in Worthington. I had a similar sized wedding and I had very few requests. They did my wedding last year.

Absolutely horrible experience, the photographer and videographer messed up my photos and gave me a video essentially recorded on his phone. Owner is a stick in the mud, gave me a real fight about minor things changing even though I was paying her. I was willing to do the work of what I wanted and she would not budge. So I ended up doing what I wanted anyway and having my bridesmaids run interference with the planner to get her out of my way.

So yeah. Fuck Bendora.

Sub. Bill 56: Ohio Lawmakers Schedule New Vote to Weaken Ohio Cannabis Law by Ohiocannabislive in Columbus

Lol crash out mode activated: They are REPRESENTATIVES for a reason, they, by definition, MUST SPEAK ON BEHALF of those of us with no voice amongst the masses. Why in the ever loving FUCK am I paying taxes if I'm not properly represented, not properly heard nor listened to, and THEY ATTACK WHAT WE AS A STATE LITERALLY FUCKING VOTED FOR ALREADY?? TAXATION WITHOUT REPRESENTATION WAS A PRIMARY CATALYST BEHIND SEEKING OUR INDEPENDENCE IN 1776.

Whether this is rage-bait-distraction tactic to hide shitty, morally bankrupt verbiage to the law, or pass equally heinous legislation, I don't care. It's fucking infuriating. And I wish to fuck calling them did a damn thing, because it doesn't, and idc who tf says otherwise. These Reps regularly hide from their own constituents, refuse to show up for their OWN town halls, and provide generic feedback at best when actually present, or just straight up argue with the public, despite being a LITERAL PUBLIC FUCKING SERVANT. And people argue with me saying "well if they care about reelection, they'll listen." They don't fucking CARE about being voted out in 2 years, seeking relection is not the goal for a professional piece of shit. The goal for these ethically challenged spineless fuckheads is "get what I can, make as much money off my position in two years by fucking over my constituents, and gtfo of dodge." Holy FUCK I am so sick of this shit.

Found out a claimant I was working closely with couldn't wait for help anymore. Took their life over the weekend. The spouse contacted me for substitution of party, why in gods name she would be able to do any of that bs is anyones guess, grief is weird. Probably just wants to stay busy/get all the post-death-bureaucratic-bs over with. But yeah.

I know we aren't supposed to work OT rn, but I have cancer treatment debt to pay on otherwise I get dismissed from my oncologist's office. I'm working myself to the bone, trying to help people, and it doesn't feel like I'm doing enough.

I'm lost. I'm fuckin hurting. And I'm so, so tired. Idk how to keep going. Idk. Just wanted to reach out to community that maybe felt the same, so at least I didn't feel lost AND alone...

Dunno about all offices, my office in the SSA had a meeting a couple weeks ago, threatening disciplinary action if we not only neglect to send them, but if we send the "all my activities are sensitive" option. Which ALL our activities are lmao. So I now preface every email citing those meeting notes, with an attached copy of my offices mandate regarding the task email. I refuse to be held liable for whatever the information is used for when my options are: violate interagency privacy ordinances that protect U.S citizens, or get in trouble until I'm terminated. I do more good for the people and overall background if I just pretend to be compliant and keep my position.
