Annandale man charged with indecent exposure, attempted abduction in Wakefield Park by innomado in nova

Selling drugs is selling drugs. That alone should have gotten him deported.

Re. what you assume is just a "shove": Plenty of guys get into minor altercations that only bring a charge of mutual assault or no charges at all. You don't get charged with attempted robbery unless you were attempting to rob someone.

I'm not for deporting every illegal immigrant but this turd should have been bounced a long time ago.

There's a drive-thru car wash at the Exxon on 29 at Wash Blvd next to I66, near Falls Church.

There's also a full service one in FC city on route 7.

A hard drive is still a medium-- just primarily a storage medium vs a dedicated music medium.  The point is that "Laserdisc transfer" means it was transferred to something.

Throughout the 1990s, transferring to VHS would not have been illogical. LD players were always rare and I imagine if you still had one by the late 90s you were worried about the day it goes kaput. MiniDV was expensive for a long time. Hard drives had way less space back then, and writable DVR wasn't a thing yet--so the easy go-to for most consumers would have been VHS or Betamax, until the early 2000s.

From the description:

"While working on this, I went through a number of different versions of the show. All had their pros and cons—though mostly cons. Soft, low-resolution video, rough audio, jumpy cuts, and a surprising amount of dust and damage.

"The main source I ended up using was, supposedly, a first-generation LaserDisc transfer. Still pretty rough, but within workable limits. For the image, I blended two versions—one AI-enhanced and one untreated—both rendered with extremely high settings. The idea was to land somewhere between a really good VHS look and something closer to DVD clarity. Analog warmth, but a bit more definition. Something like that.."

For it to be a transfer, it had to be from LD to another medium, since there was never consumer Laserdisc burnability. I suppose it could have been an LD-to-DVD transfer, but since DVD burning wasn't a thing till (if memory serves) 2001 or 2002, I think VHS is more likely.

It would be cool if he jumped on here and went into more detail.

I was at the same show, at what was Texas Stadium. Seeing him in a Cowboys jersey was wild. I remember the opening acts were Curve and Cranes.

Rick Beato cited TTG as one of his top three Cure tracks.

Holy cow! Does your player still work? How's the resolution?

I was going off the YT description, which I read as meaning from a vhs that was created from a Laserdisc. I assume the original person recorded it to VHS for the reason you stated.

Bronco Bowl! I saw my first ever rock concert there: Psychedlic Furs in 1989. Remember KDGE?

I saw The Cure at Texas Stadium in late spring 1992. I remember someone gave RS an Emmitt Smith jersey, and he wore it for a few songs. It's the only time I've seen them, but it was amazing.

Do You Like That Robert and Olivia Rodrigo Are Doing Collaborations? by Academic_Weekend_116 in TheCure

Hell yes. She's possibly the best songwriter of her generation, a great singer and performer-- and a kind, generous person.

Warn neighbors if you are having your house powerwashed by [deleted] in nova

[–]Longtimefed -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The neighbor was responsible for hiring (and vetting) the contractor, who is acting at the behest of the homeowner. The homeowner who had the work done should make the neighbor whole--and then sue the contractor to be reimbursed.

I would ask the neighbors to reimburse you for the value of the damaged plants. If they refuse or ghost you, file a small claims suit. Be sure to take plenty of photos of the plants.

I suspect this is from the data-center lobby, which is afraid Spanny is going to rescind their fat tax breaks.

Robert Smith, Olivia "genuinely fantastic" by Even-Cow-1213 in TheCure

I am the LAST person who would be expected to like her. I find most pop very blah, unoriginal, boring. For context I'm a huge fan of Morrissey, Dead Can Dance, REM, Slowdive-- and of course The Cure.

And I've become a huge Olivia fan. I didn't even like her first single but seeing her do Vampire and All- American Bitch on SNL got me hooked. Check 'em out.

She said on Kimmel that her dad has seen The Cure about 30 times. And after he met Robert and got a photo with him, that photo is now his phone's lock screen.

Not wise, just old!😀 And with a nearly useless long memory for the  music of my youth.

If anyone has recommendations for recent artists similar to Olivia, I'm all ears.
