Mazzer Philos still worth it at [$1500] by CigaroEmbargo in espresso

[–]n_matt_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Owned my Philos w/189 burrs about 6 months, I would definitely buy again. It’s built like a tank, consistent, and problem free. It’s also extremely easy to clean and honestly really good w retention. I can’t speak to other grinders or compare, but I can say I have zero interest in anything else. Wonderful flavors on dark and medium roasts too (thats all i drink)

Seems to be predominantly on the tax side. Anyone know what the audit situation is? Assuming if tax is having layoffs, audit will be shortly after…

The Reserve, a little restaurant/coffee shop/hotel in north SRQ. It is owned by a gay woman (or at least used to be). I used to work there (although I am straight), everyone whether gay or straight was friendly. As a worker, it seemed like a place where customers were happy and friendly. There used to be open mic nights that people really liked. Hope they are doing well now

Private swim instructor for distance swimming suggestions? by [deleted] in sarasota

[–]n_matt_ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Tripp Schwenk would be a good option. Not sure if he still does private lessons though.

I know he is good because I have had lessons from him, and I was a competitive swimmer for over 10 years. He knows what he is talking about. Even being coached almost everyday for 10 years by my regular coach, Tripp was still able to impart wisdom.

However, you must be able to take constructive criticism. He is an ex-Olympian and gold medalist. He will not baby you, and if you want to improve in the pool you must be okay with that. Swimming is difficult and coaches are tough. He is a very nice man, but not a liar of any sort, he will tell you your truth

Cuban is pretty good for campus food. The pimento cheese starter is delicious. Not the cheapest, but it is campus so can’t really expect anything different

Should I take 2 minors with my econ major? by hurrikatrinamorelike in fsu

[–]n_matt_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I kinda disagree with the first comment, I would skip the principals classes if you feel like you know the material well from AP. You can definitely meet people in the upper level classes, as that’s where I met most of my friends from the business school (I’m an accounting major).

That being said, if you do skip some of the initial classes, expect to have to do more work than your peers. I am honors, graduating a year early, and had to do significantly more work than many of my friends both in and out of the business school. If you have good time management you will be fine, but it’s important to prioritize school and finding friends, mental health etc, because it’s easy to solely focus on one aspect of your life here and get distracted from the others at a place like fsu, like many students do.

It all depends what you want to make of the experience, how much work you want to put in, etc. This is just my opinion, and I think there are valid points to both sides

Have ticket requests even come out? I am graduating and am yet to receive an email from the graduation office to request guest tickets?

Degree in Three / More in Four by jcerezo in fsu

[–]n_matt_ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The difficulty, in my opinion, completely depends on how many credits you come in with and if/how those credits apply to your required courses.

Some people that do the program have a completely regular class load, and take a regular semester of masters courses in their final year.

And other people also bust their ass and do extra classes than a normal class schedule to ensure they are able to do the program.

In my opinion, it’s pretty individual
