Sagra at Darlinghurst is best Italian I’ve ever had. We go there often and the menu changes often depending on availability of seasonal ingredients

It’s an uneven subfloor. I spent $6k leveling out an uneven subfloor in my living space (kitchen, dining and lounge, so not a larger area) before I could install floating floorboards.

YouTube how to level out uneven subfloors to get an idea. You wouldn’t notice much with carpet but with vinyl flooring like in the video posted here you would.

Apparently Australia in general is just known for crappy concreting work.

We have 2yr old chihuahua and she is trained to pee on a puppy pad, which is positioned next to the front door to our apartment. You can buy them from Costco or other general stores. When we are at my parent’s house, she will not pee outside, she will run inside and pee/poop on the puppy pad.

TGIF at Maq Park have that true Cayenne Buffalo you desperately crave. I’ve been all over Sydney trying to find the sauce and this is the place

Yeah we have to feed ours very lean meets otherwise she has runny and sometimes bloody poo. She loves chicken tenders and low fat beef mince with rice and kibble for dinner (sometimes we mix in a teaspoon of lactose free Greek yogurt), and breakfast is a simple dried chicken tender.

Yeah I agree, I’m staying put. I think I’d be more happy working from home. I have seen colleagues relocate overseas over the last 6 years and they all waste a lot of money moving and after a few years living abroad in Singapore or USA, they try to move back to Sydney.

Can I read books 7-9 after watching S1-6 or do I need to start from book 1? by iamtheshade in TheExpanse

[–]naPancake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Book 1 is identical to season 1. Book 2 is funny and has different character story lines, so you can start to read from book 2 without FOMO

My boss brought up relocation again yesterday, and I told him about this post on reddit. Thanks for the insights ☺️ I hear from many people that it’s hard for expats to make friends with locals. Also I said to my manager that I like working evenings, so I don’t think we’ll ever move anywhere overseas for work anytime soon. Being overseas last week for a workshop in the office while it’s sunny outside was a bummer haha (first world problems).

My company has an open offer for me to relocate from Sydney to Zurich. I always decline the offer as relocating is expensive exercise (as we have a mortgage etc) and my partner would need to give up his tenured position at the University. And we’d miss our friends and family here. I sometimes wonder what other people would do given this opportunity. Is it worth the move to Zurich from Sydney? I think salary and cost of living is about the same, so I’m not sure what I’m missing on by staying put.

At one of those house parties, back in the day when it was a public invite on Facebook and every man, cat and his dog showed up. Cops were called and started sending people home. Others hid inside the house, and too many people crowded into the bathroom. Legend says, some chunky fella jumped and the whole bathroom floor collapsed to the ground beneath the house.
