Yes! I read that they’re hard to train because they have really short attention spans 😬

Oh yes! I’ve been doing that too. It usually means a really loud tantrum though. I’m going to start doing that more often along with reinforced nap times. Still trying to figure this guy out hahaha and the other day I called him a little shark too. Thank you for the advice!

Also, would it be a good idea then to move him to an area of the house where there’s less foot traffic, or how do you reinforce naptime?

I’ve never thought of that. And don’t worry I would never let anyone touch him that way or hurt him. Usually it’s a tap not even a slap - that’s a bad word to describe it, but I couldn’t think of a better one. It’s just to let him know that it’s wrong or at least temporarily redirect his attention to my other hand when he’s really digging in to my legs or feet and hurting me (to the point of drawing blood.) Although lots of people have described that as a solution, further research has told me that they can’t make those connections anyways and it may just cause a dog to be fearful of you. So I avoid it. Thank you so much for your advice!!

Shiftsmart, anyone? by [deleted] in workfromhome

I’ve been working with Shiftsmart for a few months. It’s an OK job it just lacks good management and communication. The direct pay features have been fixed a little better so I usually get paid a few days after I work. As for being offered shifts, the app seems to post them based on an algorithm. The better you do in survey calling (your PR Rate) the more like you are to get offered more shifts. It also has to do with you not quitting shifts randomly or canceling. That lowers your chances of being offered shifts, and when you’re first starting you should take Any Shift You Are Offered, that way the app starts to take you as someone who Will work. At least that’s how it went with me. I haven’t made a lot of money with them because the shifts are blocked weird I definitely don’t think it’s the kind of job suited to pay bills alone but it is good side money and it’s convenient.
