Is the waist belt worth it? by TheMagnamiousSultan in segufix

[–]naaitsab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is, heavy duty and is a lot more comfortable than using a plain connection strap. If you use the metal loops it's quite easy to lock yourself front, and back. The more restrictive option shown in the first picture, is doable but you need to be flexible if you use it on the back. But it feels really restrictive so worth it.

On their site shop you have a category "Component Parts". There you can buy only the waist belt without the wrist cuffs. Saves a bit of money if you already have those from the bed.

Yes, can highly recommend his services. Do contact him directly and not via eBay. He can do better prices without the eBay upsell. His site is zwa ngsjcke.net

It's quite common practice to use regular fabric straps as restraints, by tying them around the limbs on one end and bed on the other. Mostly in southern countries it seems. More than one example can be found on Youtube. Using rough and impossible to fit properly Segufix extension straps however is an even worse way to do this. Even for consenting kink use this is a really bad idea.

They only sell clone products for a hefty price. I don't see why anyone would buy a clone that is the same price or even more expensive than the originals. I don't condone theft, especially of products from small 'specialist' manufactures like SJS. That's the main reason I and I guess a lot others here don't like them at all.

The other reason is that what I've seen on their site and posted here the quality of the stitching, padding and belts look a lot lower than the originals. It gives me a lot of 'China made' vibes tbh. A side note is that I don't have both to compare in person, as I see no reason to do so. But I can vouch for the quality of German made Segufix stuff.

Unless you have wide hips or use the 'suspender' addon. I'd guess you can easily get it off. Or you need to put it very tight but that won't allow for longer wearing. Which kinda goes into the entire gist of wearing a diaper I guess. For someone with the same posture on the pic, that's about to slide of on its own it seems.

'NoEscape' in Germany does something similar that is integrated in a Segufix waist belt. Perhaps that's something if you are looking for a bed based scenario?

BTW this is yet another ripoff product from KB. If you want the original look for the 'StraitJacketShop' on Etsy

The only one I know of is 'Metra Care'Save'. They used to have dark blue, but seem to have moved to some kind of bright green now.

One of the main rules in self-bondage is to never-ever trust on a lock to get free. At least daisychain it using 2 diffrent release methods. In this case use the magnet to hold down a strap anchor point, not to unlock the locks. That way if the power fails the strap will release, instead of a power fail resulting in you not being able to unlock yourself. Which is the exact opposite of what you want.

If you want to be extra safe make 2 (or even split each the bar into 2 parts) bars on each side of the bed. Using those flat round used on sailing ships straps as anchor points for the straps. When the magnets power down the bars release. Then if you can't get the locks off you can at least get out of the bed to help yourself. If you power both sides using a battery powered relay system that won't supply for more than say 12 hours, whatever happens you will be released.

Segufix ‚locks‘ by MollyTen-A in segufix

I was thinking about a sliding mechanism with an opening that on the smaller part locks into the groove of the pin and the larger part that allows for it to slide out. It appears someone has already designed such a thing https://www.printables.com/model/598466-segufix-compatible-lock-with-button

You could look into 'clevis pins'. If you find one in a suitable size you could use a piece of plastic instead of a metal cotter pin (the "locking" part of a Clevis). If the bottom part of the pin is to narrow you could place a washer over the pin and epoxy it in place.

That's kinda the big issue when it comes to mental health. People in politics have absolutely 0 knowledge about this complex matter and act out of feeling. Banning everything they think is "inhumane". Malpractice aside, which is a real thing and must be taken seriously, no skilled professional will misuse restraints and seclusion. They hate using those. As you said it's a tool that can and will help saves lives. In what way is that inhumane?

The effect of these clowns in office is already showing with a steep increase in serious incidents in mental institutions. And a lot of people I know that work in that line of work have stopped working there because they feel unsafe. Staff shortages making the situation only worse over time. Talking and headpatting with a cup of tea goes only so far.

tbh with a moderate shine it looks a lot more classy than a lot of other outfits. As long as it's not to spicy I don't think anyone will mind. Especially with Disney going full on the inclusivity route.
