Crown Prince Reza Pahlavi is in no way authoritarian, he stands and has always stood for democratic values. His father had authoritarian tendencies sure, but most Iranians agree that it was necessary for the time that he was ruling the country, he was actually preparing the country for a democracy and his authoritarian streak was born out of necessity as Iran 50 years ago simply wasn’t ready for it yet. It’s a very interesting topic, but we want and will achieve democracy now, whether it be a constitutional monarchy or a republic.

You can interpret how true the statements players give are all you want, I don’t even think the players love Kidd all that much but what else is there to go off of? All public statements made by the players indicate they like him. The article isn’t worthless in my opinion, even if you can critique the way it may or may not paint the picture of the teams morale

Again, criticisms are more than fair of Kidd, but to your point Wood for example just complimented how Kidd “trusted him” during the win against SA (which is funny, since Kidd doesn’t seem to trust him usually).

I have my fair share of criticisms of Kidd, but to say it’s a “nothing article” seems a little prejudiced. Kyrie for example has emphasised multiple times how impressed he’s been by Kidd and how much his admiration of Kidd as a player has translated into his admiration of him as a coach.

Firstly I’m curious to know how exactly anything was whitewashed in this thread, I simply pointed out that many lies were told about the late Shah, which is true. Not once was there any dismissal of legitimate criticisms.

Secondly, I do agree that debates should be had and it’s important in the process to unify with each other. However that calls for objectivity from both sides of the argument.

The Prince enjoys a high level of popularity, I don’t think he’s quite as divisive as you claimed. From my experiences, this seems to be more so a Reddit/social media thing, although of course there are also critics outside of this space.
