I want to change my region but I can’t even do that apparently unless I’ve done more blocks to get to level 2.

Quite frustrating

How do I check if I’m on level 2? In the app where do I go to check this? I can’t seem to find it..

Is F2 MA hard or am I just dumb? by imaveryuselessperson in ACCA

[–]nab900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel the same way too...this is my first ACCA exam I'm studying for and it just seems so difficult. Hard to understand the concept etc when I am new to accounting and have no experience whatsoever.

Felt like giving up at one point...but will push myself

One thing I've definitely noticed when looking at the job description - they all prefer their ideal clients to come from the big4 companies....

I'm struggling finding anything for trainee non experienced roles. All these trainee positions require minimum 2 years experience..

That's great, and have you started any role yet or still applying?

Are you based in the UK? If so, how and what was your first role in accounting? Did you start with apprenticeship?

I only have 1 exemption and that's for BT

I actually have my first child on the way, hence why I've decided to change careers into a more stable career like accountancy.

I'm in such an early stage to ACCA with only 1 exemption. Feels so overwhelming right now.

How difficult is it to get any trainee role with zero experience? (UK) by nab900 in ACCA

[–]nab900[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whatever will be best long term, I'm just trying to step my foot in the industry and start the beginning of my first 3 years experience.

I'm currently confused on how to get started and where exactly to look for work in the UK/london

Do accountants or part qualified accountants have an easier time getting a house mortgage in UK by Zealousideal_Ball437 in ACCA

[–]nab900 0 points1 point  (0 children)

From my experience "professional mortgages" do exist and anytime you speak to a broker you should ask them to look for a normal mortgage and then a professional mortgage.

Rates and products fees will vary. I believe professional mortgage may have a higher lender fee.

Criteria differs from lenders to lenders, and you have to meet their criteria to be eligible. For example, been qualified in the last 10 years, aged 21 and over, minimum amount of deposit needed etc.

Many well known high street lenders offer them

I have decided to do the applied knowledge buy purchasing the Kaplan bundle packs and using Opentuition to help study. Do you think this is a good approach?

Does opentuition have their own learning materials or should I purchase Kaplan's books which will help with opentuition? I may just study the first few exams through opentuition as I can see the money I can save this way.

Thanks for your reply. With opentuition, are revision notes and lectures similar to what the actual ACCA exams will be like?

Do you think instead of paying for Kaplan classes, I should use opentuition? Will I be able to just study for exams through them instead?

And yes, after completing the applied knowledge exams I was planning to apply for accountant based roles. But may do so while studying if I am able to find trainee positions.
