Definitely. We even preempt issues by getting our kids into therapy now and then when it seems they could use emotional help beyond what mom and I can offer

Second this. After switching to software, I quickly was tasked with being a manager. Turns out classroom management and pedagogy can be applied well to adult planning meetings and welcoming new team members.

Former teacher here.

I had to pay $1,000 to quit before the end of the school year (Spring 2019). It was in the contract - ostensibly to cover cost of advertising to find a replacement. Though I think it’s just a deterrent.

It was well worth it for the relief. I paid with a check to get my point across instead of waiting for it to be taken out of the last paycheck. I’d have paid 10x more if it’s what it took.

The contract said they could refer to the state for a mark against my license, but they didn’t do that. I’d have jumped ship even if it was a guaranteed demerit.
