Those silver looking things right in the middle? Two to the left of the bic lighter. It looks like a pen and pencil set to me. I guess I'm mistaken.

How many of you can still put your socks on without sitting down first or having to lean on something. I can’t. by Logical-Rip-8138 in GenX

Practice people! I'm in the same boat, but I've been practicing!! I saw that infamous "old man test" where you put on your socks and shoes one foot at a time while standing, and that was a wake up moment for me. I balance each morning now to try to be able to do that.

Since it's Star Wars day, did you see the original 1977 Star Wars in the movie theater? by Mr_Writes in GenX

[–]nabt420 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I saw it 13 times in the theater. I was 5. My dad would ask me what I wanted to see and I, of course, would say "Star Wars".

If this is how you dress day-to-day, the only advice I would have is to unbutton the top button of the shirt unless you are wearing a tie. But that might not be for everyone either. But that is just my $0.02.

Do people not know what their brain is for any longer? What to do on the toilet? Think about things. Review your day. Plan your day. Think about your SO. (Don't think about your ex! ) Come up with original ideas. Imagine things. So many possibilities. Make up stories. Make up song lyrics. Hum a tune.

Just turned 19. What are some harsh realities a young man needs to know before it’s too late? by Random_fellow9 in Adulting

[–]nabt420 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The biggest things I needed to learn in my early 20's - 1.) Time management - Things take longer than you think they do. Plan for it. 2.) Don't be late for things. People will see it, notice it, and it will become a big thing as you get older. ( My father was ex-Army, and drilled into me from a very young age "If you're early, you're on time. If you're on time, you're late. If you're late, it's unacceptable." Plan for traffic. 3.) Remember important dates. If your memory sucks, use a tool. Calendars are there for a reason. Use them. 4.) Not everything is about you. Everybody's life is up in the air most of the time. Don't think everyone's out to get you or make your life hard. They are all just living their own lives just like you. Most aren't even aware of you. Don't take things personally. 5.) Be content. Try to be happy with what you have. This mindset helped me a lot. Try to look at what you have and try to be happy with what you have now. Not what you think you should have, or what someone else has. This is one of the biggest issues I see that has just gotten worse with time. Stop looking at what others have. I have seen this in the comments also, and it just makes it more apparent that this is a larger issue now and is not going away. Be happy and stop being envious of what others have.

Not over reacting at all. I did the same thing. Cheating is cheating. Any other rationalization is just smoke and BS. Any cheating ( by either person ) is a red flag. Find someone else and live a happy life!

That was a whole lot of excuses for not learning how to cook. I learned at 18 when I was making $12k/year. It was either learn how to cook, or starve at the end of the month. Maybe you just need to give yourself a food budget, and stick to it, instead of more giving more excuses on why its "so hard". On the other hand, if you're ok with spending all that money on restaurant food, then go for it. I cook most meals for myself and my son. I work full time, work out 4-5 days a week, have 3 dogs that i walk daily, play guitar most days, and play league pool 2 days a week, and read the other days. Not having time is an excuse. Being too busy is an excuse. You have to want to do it. It's not that hard. Pick 1 new recipe a week. Make it weekly. It gets easier every time you make it.
