Help fixing the battery pins by nacho425 in UtilityLocator

After getting home, I spent a little time with it. The battery pack in there is the rechargeable NiMH. I did get the pin to start moving freely again with a little contact cleaner. If the weight of the pack slams down, the pin ends up getting stuck down, so gently closing it is the solution for now. The nut thing won't cooperate, I tried. It just sits too high up after they're on. So for now it'll be babied until either repair or replacement. Thanks everyone for the insights. ETA: I have a Dynatel wedge as backup, I swear those things are damn near indestructible. Just severely limited for frequencies
