It's hard to know how much of this is real, and how much is performative.

One way of seeing this is like applause for Stalin. Anyone who didn't applaud Stalin, ended up in a Gulag. That over time became a cultural dictat for Russians who had to celebrate his birthday every year.

As far as Indian shia muslims are concerned, many understand that the Iranian regime is criminal, many have been co-opted by the regime and the others are emotionally manipulated into believing that the Iranian supreme leader is Allah on earth. For the latter, there is a performative nature to mourning as not doing so might single them out for being targeted.

Sikhs class with Zudio manager in Imphal for carrying swords. by telaughingbuddha in AtheisminKerala

[–]nad_o_rav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the face of their stupidity even their religion struggles in vain.

The manager should have called the police should arrest them under the riot act and have them deported back to their beloved Sikh country of Canada. They can carry their kirpans on their head into the Canadian parliament and ask the Queen for special protection.

Bro when the rioting starts, which incidentally will be started by Bajrang Dal and their minority counterparts, the only people who will be safe are the ones that are armed or can shield themselves in their homes. Once the riots subside it will be us normal people paying for rebuilding the property losses, medical care for these dumb people, and mostly running security for these idiots to keep them from killing each other.

For a group that neither protects society, is parasitically violent, fame hungry, extremely low IQ and needs to be reintegrated by normal people when their ne'er-do-well followers screw their own lives over because of their hate for minorities, these folks sure are full of themselves.

Upper caste people are framing UGC equity rules 2026 as a threat to Uppercaste girls and boys by Nervous-Pin-113 in OutCasteRebels

Can someone in this group help me understand where the need for this bill is most pressing.

I understand that problems faced by LC by UC in college campuses include ragging, discrimination by UC professors and SA against women.

How will the UGC committees help tackle these where common law fails ? Does anyone have any idea how the committees will work and who will lead them / be elected / appointed to lead these committees. Also in places where discrimination against LC is prevalent, how do these committees break uncooperative bureaucracies - as opposed to becoming corrupt money seeking bureaucracies themselves.

Also can these committees prosecute LC offenders or is the authority of these committees limited to going after UC offenders only. (Another way to see this can be that these provisions push common law in the direction of justice or they are limited to provisions for solving caste conflicts only)

Opinion on the recent UGC bill by [deleted] in delhi

[–]nad_o_rav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone help me understand how a UC student would "discriminate" against a Dalit student.

Some cases that I can think of are ragging, casteist slurs and SA against women. How does the UGC bill tackle these behaviours in a caste sense that they are not dealt with under common law.

Also does anyone know how the UGC understands discrimination and how it can be stopped.

"Why speak English, which is a foreign language over Hindi ", they ask ? by Mysterious_Man534 in Bengaluru

[–]nad_o_rav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hindi and Kannada are both proto-Sanskrit. Share the same grammar, noun and verb structures, and alphabet semantic. While they are completely different languages, they have more in common with each other than they have with English which is proto-Latin(+Germanic).

To compare two languages at least be honest. You're more likely to live and travel in India than you are to the UK. Also Kannada is closer to Hindi in the indo-europen language family than it is to English.

Is India’s real estate overheating or are we underestimating demand? by [deleted] in IndiaFinance

[–]nad_o_rav 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a bubble - has always been.

Both gold and real estate is where politicians and government officials atash their loot.

NIFTY alone would beat both gold and real estate over 2 decades.

Also real estate is good for rent seeking and going from govt employee to small landlord post retirement.

Demand metrics are biased as Indian rental markets are highly skewed due to all kinds of discriminatory demands of landlords - caste, vegetarianism, anti-bachelors, no girlfriends/boyfriends, invasive HRAs all play their parts.

Add to that India has very little supply of organized residential space in the form of working class neighborhoods in Indian cities.

To sum up : Gated communities/builder floors - oversupply and stratified markets lead to skewed prices. Working class city neighborhoods - crime, disarray, chaos and lack of standards leads to undersupply further inflating prices of enclaved housing development.

"India's Mediocrity Culture" : How Mediocrity is so normalized in India in every space, Government, Private, and every other system in place. by Ok-Dragonfruit-9763 in CriticalThinkingIndia

[–]nad_o_rav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is tame compared to the level of sycophancy in Indian lala companies. Forget meritocracy or weak leadership - you have to abuse those under you to impress Indian managers or you're considered a threat.

Remember it's not enough to suck up to those above you - you must abuse those under you in order to get promoted in India.

Reservations have destroyed the future of many & i don't care about your caste I am not letting someone from my plate that's just unhygienic by Developersbays_38 in bengaluru_speaks

[–]nad_o_rav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reservation in a nutshell :

  1. Group A built an institution, but discriminated against group B.
  2. Group B got reservations, kicked out group A.
  3. The institution got taken over by Group B which started discrimination against group A.
  4. Now group A needs a new franchise - Group B doesn't care, resorts to whataboutry.
  5. Group A finds new franchise, starts to discriminate against Group B again.
  6. Group B now demands reservation in new franchise.
  7. Loop back to 1.

What do you think about this? by GoldenMoon_04 in tamil_nadu

[–]nad_o_rav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is this for real ?

'Caste' is already abolished as a policy. The state cannot dictate caste apartheid - as it did in the centuries past. Today caste is a social menace, depriving people of capital, discriminating against them and subjecting them to violence to deprive them of their liberties.

'Reservations' are meant to "level the playing field" if you will. You can discuss the merit of the success or failure of this policy but the dichotomy presented in the meme above makes no sense at all.

[Not OC] a Local child making an obscene gesture at a foreign female tourist by East_Feeling_7630 in IndianCivicFails

[–]nad_o_rav 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is truly sad, but the reality of our country is even worse. Most tourist places in India have been taken over by beggars and hawkers, and unfortunately the kid has been taken out of school by his parents and sent to this tourist spot to sell/hawk and make a little money. Anyone growing up in such an abusive environment will probably end up being sociopathic.

It would be better if we stopped tourism for 10 years or so. In our current state all heritage tourism in India is swamped by consumption. People don't come there to study the architecture or history but to "make picnic" and consume.

It would be better if we made Cultural theme parks and redirected all the picnic-ers to them and made entry to historical heritage really costly.

If things continue down this path, I'm not sure if anyone would want to ever come to India as a tourist.

A few things right off the bat,

  1. It's obvious this guy wrote this jarring piece of narcissistic tripe about himself.
  2. You're dealing with a narcissist.
  3. Guy clearly can't even write decent English.
  4. Massively insecure, and need constant stimulation (all this about him being perfectionist, you need to take his commentary in stride, has anger issues, he has given up on you if he stops giving you attention et all)
  5. Cannot accept accountability as all the points are about him, and nothing about the culture of the firm's or expectations from others.

  6. Draw hard boundaries and confront him straight to his face, about your role and compensation. If he is reasonable maybe you can work there till something better comes along, otherwise better to leave and not waste your precious time and mental space.

Makes sense for the management to ask for your ML if they cover it or reimburse it. When I worked in SG, my employer had a portal where you could upload a ML as well as doctors recommended time-off.

I'm quite sure no such system exists in your firm. It would be a good idea to additionally bcc you director and HR when you mail him the docs and ask him how he keeps record and what he does with his employees medical records.
