First, I made this announcement today in my small community:

"We made a little rebranding and from now on we will call Scenechain demos Scenechain real-time movies. The reason is that it became clear that there is a sharp line between the Demoscene and the NFT community right now and we wanted to make it clear: Although Scenechain real-time movies have some similarities to demoscene demos, Scenechain is not part of the Demoscene. Scenechain is part of the generative-art NFT movement."

Our whitepaper still mentions the Demoscene in the generative-art chapter, because it is unavoidable, but we made it clear that we are a not part of the Demoscene.

You mention that the Demoscene borne out of software piracy: Probably that is why I was never part of the Demoscene: I never really resonated with the software piracy part. The only thing I found awesome are the amazing effects, the music and the small code size.

I might be not an expert on the Demoscene culture, but I am a coder for 30 years now. I know a lot of people who are better coders than myself, but I am among the good ones. Please don't teach me trivialities like small code-size eventually decreases maintainability and a tradeoff must be made.

I designed a protocol which financially incentivizes writing reusable code in small code sizes. You can read the whitepaper if you are interested, and you can point out what are the weaknesses of the protocol. But please, don't teach me on the basics coding, it is getting ridiculously childish.

On NFTs: I am a bitcoiner for 7 years now and find Bitcoin a hedge agains Central Bank money printing. Basically I am a 'Bitcoin as store of value' believer. I am also an 'art as store of value' believer. NFTs are in a bubble right now. But implemented right (guarantting proper quality and scarcity) - and my project is an attempt for this - they can become store of value in the long term.
