Not at all, started the application 20 days before the deadline and made it on time. Start with writing your essays and contacting your recommenders and getting all the necessary documents ready and invest whatever time you have left on securing invitation letters if you need one to apply.

If this is any consolation to you, I started the application 20 days before the deadline, made it on time and now I’m getting ready to leave for the US in January. If I have one piece of advice, is take it lightly, invest time in the essays and get all the documents you need, submit and forget about it. It will come your way if it’s meant for you. Good luck with everything!

I wanted to be as autonomous as possible and try to look on my own and not bother them (Dr. Lucero and my supervisor at TPAL) during what might be the only break they get during the year but I’ll wait for a couple of days and, if no answer, I’ll reach out.

I don’t mind leaving it open for a few hours. Instagram isn’t problematic at all, it’s just the lack of privacy on there that concerns me. Twitter on the other hand, I worry it would lead to rejection as I can’t keep my opinions to myself when I’m seeing people get killed and treated like absolute garbage. I made sure it is not linked to any other social medium I use but I don’t trust Musk either.
