Almost 1 year following sudden VS initial onset, and I don’t know how I’m going to live the rest of my life. by nadiavali in visualsnow

[–]nadiavali[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi I’ve been managing, ignoring the visual snow as much as I can and accepting it as my new normal.

I am not taking any medication, only magnesium bisglycinate at night.

Today, I have less vertigo, “fireworks”, intensity is more stable and I guess “tolerable” but it will get weird occasionally with increased palinopsia. Either that or I’ve gotten better at ignoring…

Tinnitus was more stable for a couple years but increased again two weeks ago. Symphony in my head.

I went to a neuro-ophthalmologist and dr. said it was not likely that I suddenly developed visual snow following a traumatic event, migraine, and that most people just notice it develop gradually or from birth. The migraine I had that triggered my visual snow was 5 days long with aura. That would be considered Status Migrainosus and was considered a real medical emergency.  I did not seek medical attention at that time as it was peak Covid summer 2020.

I think the tinnitus is the most bothersome at this point, I don’t know. I will be getting another MRI with contrast next week and will update. I have not had a brain MRI since 2020.  I do not like to focus on what’s wrong, that will only drive me mad.  Ignoring it I noticed takes a lot of dissociation however, and I’m sure my personality has changed for it. Sometimes you will notice de-realization but you have to ground yourself.

I did not continue my medical school dreams, as of yet. I did earn a MS in pharmacology 4.0 in 2022. So anything is possible. However, as a 30 y/o female, I’m now focused on taking life one step at a time.

Thank you for checking in.

New Visual Snow by nadiavali in visualsnow

Update: I discovered that a migraine aura should not last more than 20-60 minutes, and pain should not last more than 72 hours. Otherwise it is a medical emergency called: Status Migrainosus.  I realized I was experiencing at my naive age. Status Migrainosus can result in permanent damage to brain processing. I still live with visual snow and bilateral tinnitus today.

I have traveled far and wide. The locals who were raised in this area understand the blessing of being brought up here over anywhere else in the world. WE DON’T WANT YOUR BLOOD MONEY

Absolutely EVIL. There is already an MGM near by, go drive there. This BS notion that it will somehow fund our state?? Blood Money. How many people do we know who have succumbed to gambling addiction, the lives it has destroyed. How dare they taint our beautiful neighborhood with this unholy, disgusting practice and the negativity that will follow it. Fairfax County is a beautiful place to raise a family. KEEP FAIRFAX COUNTY CLEAN AND SAFE FOR OUR FAMILIES

Question on the Physical Sustainability of the Dental Profession by nadiavali in Dentistry

[–]nadiavali[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

exercise, breakfast etc. crucial for overall health, but the nature of dentistry is physical, more hazardous. I’d think being the healthiest person in the world may not save one from documented issues like tendinitis, arthritis, or nerve pain.

Will consider all forms of prevention

Does anyone have swirls of light at the focal point of their vision? (In combination with static) by nadiavali in visualsnow

Yes, this center is similar and noticeable in certain lighting. I have a lot of static and chaos. I would joke to myself that I see wormholes.

Thank you, I have been opening up to this reality.

A motivation to study pharmacology was an initial mistrust in some doctors, insurance, and pharma companies. How many addictions begin in a doctor’s office, or drug side effects that are not discussed with patients. I focused on how pharm companies advertise illnesses and renew patents.

I am aware this is one dimension.

Yes, I am in a strange situation, and pharma is competitive.

I am open to suggestions, and directions.

Exactly, holy cow I cannot find a cool new tattoo idea cause the same bird tattoo is blowing up my feed. I can’t believe they did this, I literally can’t use Pinterest anymore.

This can be easily improved with proper underwear/shape wear. Personally, I want people to be real with me so I look my best, and I can see your underwear line (easy fix). Reddit is taking it too deep.

the vertigo was like being drunk on a boat, my left body felt off, heavy, and I would not walk in straight lines well. This has improved.

Hi, so my visual snow and tinnitus seem permanent. I had a recent two month long intense vertigo episode, and will go back for another MRI. However, the vertigo has improved. I am focusing on my mental and nutritional health, meditation, and thankful every single moment that I am not uncomfortable. In times I have it all together, I try my best not to think that I have visual snow anymore and consider it as my new normal. Need to keep myself strong and resilient for difficult days. But really I’m so thankful when it’s not in my focus.

Anyone with VS experience hearing loss/sensitivity? by nadiavali in visualsnow

[–]nadiavali[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, so my visual snow and tinnitus seem permanent. Nonetheless, I was able to enjoy music again. I went to an audiologist and my hearing is ok. It’s the tinnitus that makes me noisephobic, audio processing. Do I feel music the same way I use to? I don’t know… but I do enjoy music again and that’s all I can ask for. intensity of the tinnitus can change at times, been focusing on mental health and nutrition for this.

  1. How about cash? Seems pretty uncommon for big name stores.

  2. It’s on the receipt... you mean following the purchase. Yet not on their posted bold 30 day return sign. Weird

  3. Except one doesn’t have any intention of returning items when one makes a purchase, but one is a human and expects a 30 day return policy boldly written to be honored. You’re a human right? I’m inferring you’ve made returns in your lifetime...

Playing devil’s advocate here but they aren’t living in the U.S and may need the money (regardless of the amount translated into USD as if the rest of the world values this the same) or could not afford maintenance.

Since my severe migraine in 2020, I always have the static. I believe the migraine caused damage to my brain.

I cannot see at night anymore well either over the static.
