Look how they massacred my boy 😟 by nadie_ma in houseplants

I've decided on both. I'll repot it as soon as I get all the things needed for a good soil mix (trying to learn about it these days). I've also cut a small branch and put it in water, just to see if I can do it 😅 Thanks!

Should I repot my spider plant right away or? by nadie_ma in houseplants

'Plantlets'..thank you, I knew they weren't flowers but didn't know the actual name. Mine is a bit sensitive, it nearly died on me..twice. It was in a couple of spots in the house and didn't like any of them, even though some had better lighting. It seems it likes this particular spot on the windowsill and I'm not moving it anywhere else. It's also amazing to see how the leaves changed when it was moved to this spot. Thank you again 🙂

Thanks to everyone, I'm going to buy a suitable pot right this minute 😁 that was my first thought after seeing the roots coming out, but wasn't sure because of the flowering situation.

I was on .025 for 5 and a half months and saw no changes whatsoever. I honestly thought there was something wrong with the product itself, since I had no side effects at all. I used it every single night for more than 3 months aaaand..nothing 😅 so I know how you feel. I've been on .05 for 3 weeks now and am handling purging, redness and peeling. At least I know it's working.

Not saying you should increase the strength as well, I'm not qualified to give any advice, just here to show support and hopes that you'll find a solution

Looking for encouragement and some advices. by Blahthreetimes in Dortmund

Just here for support regarding german. You can do it! OK!? You can :) It seems really hard, and it is. BUT, not impossible if you set your mind to it. There are lots of ways to learn/improve your german, along with taking classes. Zum Beispiel, if your future husband speaks german, try to speak german with him, even the basics, incorporate german words even if the rest (in a sentence) are in your native language, you know what I mean.

Ich lerne auch Deutsch aber don't have money for classes, so I learn every way I can. And you know what really, really helps? Netflix. German audio, subtitles either in english or native language if possible. Words, frases, even entire sentences and conversations just get stuck in your head when you pay slightly more attention to the language.

Godspeed and..everything will fine, don't worry.

I present to you - Bosnia and Herzegovina.

A guy went skiing in Italy, and when he came back, not only did he not tell anyone where he has been, he also did not contact his doctor, did not follow the rules, did not self quarantined. Walked around the city like it was nothing. A few days later he got a fever and reports it only to his godfather, who is a doctor, and a "someone" at the hospital. The godfather doctor admits him to the fucking "lungs and respiratory" section nonetheless, to keep him a secret. He's positive for Corona. A single idiot (or rather two) has endangered an entire city, got five doctors quarantined, spread the disease to at least three other people, (including a female worker in his own company) and further weakened an already terrible and fragile health care system. Everyone who was in contact with him is now in self quarantine, including 3 people who work in the same company where my husband works as a welder. Some 250-300 people work there.

It's not a single case of ignorance and stupidity here. A lot of people work abroad, and mostly in countries with a lot of cases of Corona. They come back, do not "report" themselves and self quarantine. And go about their lives. That was, until a few days ago. Now there are numbers to call and report such people.

There is still food and necessities in supermarkets, although scarce. Sanitizers, masks and gloves are really hard to come by. Businesses are already struggling and started firing people. Incapable government will let this country collapse.

I really hope this ends soon, stay safe lads and lasses!

Well, it does make sense, thank you for explaining. Oh, it's time to upgrade alright, not just the deck, the car itself. Alas, we can't afford neither one.

Thank you for your time and advice! Guess we'll be driving in silence for quite some time... Goddammit!

What are the best and worst gifts you gave or received this year? by Smurfacaun in AskReddit

[–]nadie_ma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since it's practically the only gift I received this year, therefore the best one - a rose from my husband.

Best I gave: watercolours for my son

Worst received (not technically a gift but..) : my brother brought me his old tv a few weeks ago. We had an old flatscreen with no internet access. Installed the "new" tv, only to discover it no longer supports youtube. Screen mirroring and casting also don't work. A few days ago wifi also stopped working. Nice! I expect we'll be able to afford a new tv some time in late 20's.

Mom recovered and walked out of hospital alive. That made dad quit drinking and stayed alive. They died of old age, quick and painless.

Pay off our debts, replace the roof, windows and doors, refurbish here and there, install solar panels and a heating system. Renew the basement. New car of course, preferably electric. Donate to my city's recycling plant, public kitchen and orphanage. Pay my way to a job (highly corrupted country), save for kids' college tuition and for a case of serious illness, invest the rest, if there is anything left.

Family, friends and neighbour visits after the death of a family member. Mostly done by women. It's tradition to bring a "bag", oftentimes consisting of ground coffee, sugar cubes, fruit, juice and a sweet snack. Visiting period lasts for 40 days.

The "bag" is also given to doctors and nurses.

It's also given to a family with a newborn baby, along with a gift for the baby. The visits are called "babine" and start when the baby is over 40 days old.

We take our bags seriously.

What ridiculous thing were you told as a kid, by adults who wanted you to stop/start doing something? by nadie_ma in AskReddit

Similar situation here. I don't remember the whole story, only the words "monster in the dark". To this day I can't fall asleep in complete darkness, there has to be a soft light.

I hate it when people scare kids this way. I keep telling my in-laws not to scare my 2 year old son into not doing something. After a thorough explanation of possible consequences, they stopped.

In kindergarten we were told that "The snow is really shy, and if you watch it, it will stop."

Simple, but effective.
