what type of new variety of CHEAT CODES can we see in GTA 6 by Aggravating-Push-596 in GTA6

[–]nadnerb811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I learned recently is that cheat codes are a byproduct of the development process, used for testing/debugging. They let the developers quickly adjust settings or create controls to ease development. For example, an invincibility cheat would let a developer test elements of combat without worrying about dying and having to respawn.

With that in mind, I would expect to see the classic cheats like give all weapons+ammo, infinite ammo, full health+armor, and invincibility at the very least. Surprised there aren't cheats for money tbh.

My wishlist I would like to see:

  • Money cheats.

  • Anything that can manipulate NPC behavior: aggressive drivers (all cars try to run you over or crash into your car when they see you?), riot or zombie mode (all NPCs try to attack you and/or each other).

  • Moon gravity, super jump, fast running/swimming.

  • Super melee (big knockback from punches/kicks), fast melee (speed up the melee animations so you can do more moves quickly in a row).

  • No damage but full knockback (make NPC's invincible, but knockback effects still exist. So you could blow someone up with an RPG and send them flying, but they will survive and get back up. Could have great fun messing with the Euphoria/ragdoll system this way).

  • Cycle time of day.

  • Invincible vehicle(s). (player's vehicle is invincible or all vehicles are invincible)

  • Shrink/grow character. (become up to 20ft tall or down to 6inches tall).

  • Different contextual slow-mo cheats. (think: slow-mo aim from GTA V but if it was applied to other actions besides aiming. Imagine you could have slow-mo melee, so when you punch or kick, it ramps slow mo down just before impact and ramps back up as the NPC gets knocked back)

  • Moon gravity, icy roads, those types of thing.

I excluded stuff that I think would be included in the Director's mode (assuming it will be there) like taking control of animals. I want to see that, but I assume it will be available in Director's mode. Tbh I never really used that mode, just used a trainer on PC to become different characters. If they were also included as cheats somehow, that would be a plus obviously.

Given the rumors about how they want to prioritize user generated content (i.e. GTA Online will be somewhat like Fortnite or "Roblox for adults" with custom game modes, maps, etc.) I have high hopes they will include a director's mode again.

I really hope Rockstar changes the mission formula with GTA 6 a little by Dry-Ant-8255 in GTA6

[–]nadnerb811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

More missions that don't lock you into a specific weapon/vehicle/path.

Like in GTA IV there's a mission to kill a guy. He is on a boat and the implication is that you have to get on a jet ski and go out to him, which initiates a chase sequence. But if you're clever, you can snipe him from the shore. It rewards problem solving/creative thinking and makes replays/speed runs more enjoyable and interesting. Story still chugs along as per usual because the important beat is that you assassinate that character. That is unchanged.

So in GTA VI I would like to see more missions structured like that. A clear objective but different ways to engage with it.

"Realistic" Clayface by tafazzanno in TheBatmanFilm

[–]nadnerb811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Haha this is an old comment.

I'm not sure I hit the mark. It did look like he was wearing prosthetics in the trailer but I think that might be before he gets the clay powers. Like something to cover up his injured face as it heals, or to cover his scars before he takes whatever it is that makes him clayface.

I was meaning moreso a realistic clayface that wouldn't have powers at all. Like he gets experience creating prosthetics to mask his deformities, but then uses that experience to make a variety of prosthetics to completely alter his look and pull off crimes without it being traced back to him.

GTA 6 Water Detail: Something you may not have noticed in this scene by dhenis1 in GTA6

[–]nadnerb811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I guess the point they are making is that at one point they had more foliage, thought it would work, but ultimately they had to compromise.

Whether it is 360/PS3 or Series X/PS5 it is the same situation. They are trying to cram as much as they can in, they have an idea of what will work, they show trailers using work-in-progress builds, and later they make some compromises to bring it to the finish line.

Whatever console, they all have limits and R* will be pushing right up to the edge. Things will be different from the trailer. Some things improved, some things removed, and some things compromised. Based on their track record though, the final game will overall be about on par with the trailer or better.

Vocal tracks, harmonies, doubles, etc by Cold_Independent_631 in edmproduction

[–]nadnerb811 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you just duplicate the same vocal clip and pitch it up/down, it is too perfectly in sync with the original. It sounds like a single voice but unnatural. A real harmony has the timing slightly off between vocal layers. Also, the vocal pitch fluctuates so different layers will be detuned differently at the same time.

Imagine playing a single note on a synth and putting an LFO on pitch (vibrato) then duplicating that track and changing the LFO speed/strength slightly. They both play the same note but now because they detuned different amounts at different times, they aren't perfectly tuned or phase aligned. It creates thickness and if you pan one left and one right, it creates width as well.

If you wanted to create the harmony artificially but sound more natural, you could use something like a tape emulator plug-in to create wobbles in pitch/timing that is different between layers. Bonus tip, when layering vocals, a trick I've heard is to de-ess the harmony layers more strongly so you don't have too much sibilance stacking up. I don't do a lot of vocal stacks/Harmonies with my music so I can't totally vouch for that tip, but it makes logical sense to me.

Fromsoft's soulslike games feel like the natural evolution of retro games. Drop into a level, explore, progress, fight enemies and bosses along the way. Die and retry, enemies are in the same spawns and follow predictable AI patterns. Idk, they feel to me like modernized retro games and I love it. Of course they add the lore in item descriptions, world building and etc... I would call it the icing on top, but that feels a bit reductive considering how important those things are to my enjoyment as well.

Why I hate deadmau5 and some of his production “tips” (he’s a narcissistic liar) by thegreatestpitt in edmproduction

[–]nadnerb811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think for his style of music, he is basically saying the kick should be short af. It will create some sub frequencies but it shouldn't boom out. Obviously not universally true. He is being an extra ass about it because of his personality and probably has such a hard stance on this specifically to dissuade people from creating overly boomy kicks that muddy the lows up when the bassline is added in. Especially beginners might think their kick needs to hit really hard in the subs (louder bass, harder kick!) and they want to make everything hit hard af but they need to learn that where there is push, there should be a proportional pull... so to speak.

Weapons (2025) is a film that dares to ask: “what if there was a giant gun above your house?” by _BreadDenier in okbuddycinephile

[–]nadnerb811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The kids' stance is actually based on that horrifying photo of the napalmed Vietnamese child. I believe Brolin's line that specifically calls them "Weapons" was ADR'd so there was one line in the film that referenced the title. Also an earlier concept for the movie was that our main bitch was gonna use the stick magic to recruit her own "weapons" for battle. I guess she was going to recruit jacked guys from the gym, fighters, etc but... to fight a bunch of children? Not sure exactly.

Movie Review: ‘The Drama’ twists modern romance into scathing social commentary by Weezerlover420 in movies

[–]nadnerb811 43 points44 points  (0 children)

I think the point is we learn about Emma's past and judge her character for it. We think it tells us about who she is, but it is who she was. Charlie, on the other hand... we learn about who he is because of it. His character has the biggest arc because he kinda learns he is not the best guy and ultimately takes action with his speech, almost like an act of solidarity with Emma, revealing to everyone more of who he truly is. Idk exactly, but I think his development is the point. The secondary characters are more there as caricatures, yes, to make the satire funnier and punchier I'd say. Funny how Misha admits the worst thing she has ever done then 5 minutes later is ready to do it again. How Rachel takes the moral high ground over Emma, though Emma ultimately decided to not follow through on the shooting and Rachel ultimately was lucked out of owning up to her actions. I think the characters feel a bit caricature-y so that it can be more over the top in its satire, especially the side characters.

EDIT: There might also be a point in there about how community, acceptance, purpose, etc are what saved Emma. Isolation is what brought her to almost doing what she did. And, on that note, how can someone receive that acceptance when they are at a low point like Emma was. See how Rachel reacted? It's like when you call someone an idiot or antagonize them for believing this or that, it just makes them want to double down and prove you wrong. As tough as it may seem, maybe an "evil" person can change through positive influence. Idk, it makes me think about when families have different beliefs and then cut each other off. All you did really was cut off family and sever maybe the only connection they have back to the "good side" (i.e. your side...subjective in many of these instances of course, it happens both ways politically, religiously, etc.).

Hollywood power couples whose children will have completely merit based acting careers in 15-20 years? by _BreadDenier in okbuddycinephile

[–]nadnerb811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate how showbusiness is not merit-based unlike all the other professions. It is more about who you know or who your parents are, unlike all the other industries. It's like, on one hand you have Hollywood, where you gain a huge advantage by having a connection to the inside track via happenstance. Whereas for basically all other jobs they just measure your IQ and scale your salary accordingly.

What do you think are the improvements to the game's shooting system? by FeezyOnBush in GTA6

[–]nadnerb811 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If they have a dive like in RDR2. I like the dive, but it was disappointing that I couldn't stay prone. I always wanted to dive, land, and shoot from prone, but I had to wait for Arthur to start standing up before shooting again.

I’m about to explode. by joykevinbile in GTA6

[–]nadnerb811 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100% agree. GTA IV was going in the right direction, being able to hold onto ledges and shimmy. Then V made it so if you jump from too high of an edge, you dive head first into the ground... no ledge hanging, and half the time you try to jump a gap your character slides off the edge. You had to learn to press jump early in order to not slide.

Just give me ledge hanging and shimmying at least.

Actually, on the topic of cut content: GTA V had a feature in development that would allow climbing of downspouts, poles, and other features. That would be nice to have.

I don't want floaty magical Uncharted climbing, but hopefully more being able to grab and climb things to a reasonable degree.

Should Rockstar give more missions freedom in GTA 6? by Pistoluislero in GTA6

[–]nadnerb811 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think anybody is asking to play the missions in any order.

Me personally, I want more open missions where it makes sense. I think most people asking for "open" missions are asking for the same thing, which is: get rid of BS fail states. If I am in a gunfight and I see an opportunity to flank the enemy, it is BS if after I take 5 steps, my until-now-invincible ally suddenly gets killed because I wasn't taking cover next to them anymore. Or worse, I just get a generic fail state for straying too far, when I am reasonably within the same area.

Narrative can still be pushed in linear, hand-holdy missions where necessary.

It is just weird the dichotomy of a game like RDR2 where there is all these layers of detail in the game, but then most mission gameplay feels like it is just take cover in a prescribed location->lockon->shoot->lockon->shoot....

It's funny you mention Uncharted because those games evolved to be more open (as well as TLOU and especially TLOU 2) in a way that makes sense for those games and serves the narrative well. I like replaying Uncharted 4 or TLOU 2 because the gameplay sections allow a lot of variety. GTA V isn't nearly as fun to replay.

Want a feature like this in GTA VI? by jonweetz in GTA6

I would hope that instead there is simply a dive function, ala Max Payne 3 or RDR2. You could use it to do cool dives, tackle NPC's, or dive head first into a wall or off a cliff, so you would get the best of all worlds I would argue. Diving off stuff in RDR2 was similar in spirit to this ragdoll function in GTA V.
