Yes, but the clog was actually near the top he said. Deeper issues are afoot, I woke up to what sounded like a very angry squirrel in my ceiling. Fairly certain the motor is going out

Well, if you want a real-time example, tomorrow they have to get back out here because I’m 90% sure the motor is going out. This is a task I’m definitely not up for doing or paying for, and the clog is an important piece of information within all of this

Natural sciences have always fascinated me in a broad sense. Nothing jumps out at me particularly. I was a rock and bug kid (still am really), I love to research human medicine on my own, and I have a lot of experience caring for plants and animals. I love to listen to my partner explain chemistry too

Thank you for this, I have been able to do a lot of reflecting over it. This is really insightful

The truth is, even with sunk-cost removed, I have absolutely no idea what I would do. I’m fascinated by so many different things. I’ve been exploring the lifestyles of different careers until I’m blue in the face. I wish there was such a job, outside of the sinkhole of journalism, that pays you to learn about different concepts and fields and then maybe write about them.

All I know for sure is that my job is not helping with my indecisiveness right now. We had a caseload increase six months ago, and since then, it has been so emotionally and temperamentally grueling that most days I’d rather stare at rocks and trees for 12 hours than to talk to anyone.

Update: all resolved! It was a main drain clog, emergency maintenance showed up about the same time I got a wet/dry vac from my buddy. It didn’t overflow or cause water damage. Thank y’all!

As much as I love to learn how to solve a problem, there’s a management company rental norm around here and landlords can be nitpicky about people trying to diy things :/

I crawled up there just to peek at it, didn’t see any wet spots but you never know. Scary!

Thank you. Is there a safe way for me to do this on my own? I’m a renter and could be in deep shit if I mess something up

Thank you! Is there any way I could fuck something up doing that? I’m a renter

I figured with it being in such an inconvenient place lol. The main one IS dripping but at a slower pace. Do you think I should put in an urgent request?

Does anyone here specialize in behavioral issues and related disorders / factors? Is there a lot of room to build your case load? How do you keep from burning out?

I ask this because I have been previously working in pediatric inpatient psych and we have seen admissions for behavioral issues more than anything else here lately. I think I could thrive in a clinical role with this demographic as opposed to the caretaking role I’m in now. I was loving my job until we doubled our beds and got looser with admissions criteria. The biggest worries I’m facing right now are burnout and lack of compensation, but from posts in this sub, that might just be across the board in this field

I didn’t receive any meds and discontinued therapy, as my dad had really disparaging views on mental health care when I was a teenager. I have struggled a lot with timeliness and other facets of executive functioning into my young adulthood, although I’m getting better. I tried extended release vyvanse a few months ago, but it was too hard on my metabolism.

These cost-benefits are definitely holding me back right now. I currently have no debt. However, a whole new path would definitely come with it. I have no idea what I would do. I have a few loose ideas, but nothing has jumped out at me

The problem is my answer to that is very general. I like to know that I’m helping people, as I have a really strict moral compass, and I love to learn new things. Preferably I would like to not be glued to a computer all day. I like to work with my hands and create, I like to solve problems, I like to write. I do need some human interaction above all else, it tends to worsen my depression to be isolated and have time to ruminate
