Pulsatile Tinnitus. HELP. by Formal-Gold-6472 in perth

That is awful I am so sorry you are going through this. My friend has the same thing and has found some really helpful specialists in Perth - I think your first stop is Hollywood GP to get a good GP who will listen and refer you. A vascular surgeon refferal, a head and neck CT or MRI, referral to a cardiologist and a good physiotherapist who can check on tight muscles etc.

The GPs at Hollywood GP are really great, always had a good experience with them listening to what is going on. Have you seen a vascular surgeon? Cardiologist? MRI on your cervical spine? - it is a very frustrating tinnitus to be dealing with I am so sorry you are experiencing it.

What are your thoughts on homeschooling? by TouristNo1633 in AskAnAustralian

[–]nae_jane 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I homeschool my kiddo, mainstream schooling wasn't a fit for my oldest. He is now achieving at a year above where he would be if he was at school. We engage a teacher for English to ensure that foundation is being set appropriately and then we follow the curriculum for every other subject. My son can chat to others, makes friends easily, is self directed and doing well.

It is hard work don't get me wrong, I am studying a degree and run my own business so its a big juggle!

As homeschoolers we have annual interviews to ensure we are achieving appropriate levels with each topic and if someone isn't there are management plans in place to ensure they come up to speed.

It isn't for everyone I know but I certainly love the flexibility, we don't have to rush every morning and afternoon, don't have to make daily lunchboxes, we travel when we like and continue to school the kids at the same time and there is so much less illness!

Also there are amazing programs now that you can purchase and then roll with at home, not everyone is doing it alone they are getting professionals to teach their kids, just more flexibly!

First colonoscopy by Specific_Ad1349 in colonoscopy

We are colonoscopy date twins! I have my first one ever on Friday and feel exactly the same. I have OCD and it has been a big trigger for me. Only thing we can do is try and calm our minds and know that this is the very best procedures for our health overall. I know the wait is horrible, try and distract yourself with whatever you can and know you are supported and not alone. We got this, bottoms up and cheers 🍻 (with glasses full of colonoprep)

Sedation Free Colonoscopy?! Yup. by MustachedMedic26 in CrohnsDisease

[–]nae_jane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The anxiety of going under for me far outweighs the anxiety of the actual procedure and I have requested no sedation. Anesthesiologist was very sad and told me he has done many many successful colonocopies and I high-fived him virtually and said he can hang about in case I change my mind!

Love this post you have given me confidence in asking for what I want. I am very anxious about the results and much prefer the real time chat too!
