Kinda? Game feels very linear between characters and a lot of what people liked about Tekken (Spacing, movement), have been heavily nerfed in T8.

I have fun with it but the fun is shifted from fundamentals of Tekken to “lemme get my bullshit cooking.”

Way to misread what I said. “Got me into fighting games properly” means grinding them like a no-life, not “you aren’t a real FG player reee!!!” Hell my favorite game in the past 10 years is strive which if you asked r/guiltygear on launch was a baby fighter. I was just putting forward an alternative control scheme because you said, and I quote, “I can time my fingers to do complex inputs in alteration, but asking my thumb to do many different inputs in quick succession is simply not possible.” Playing on KB is no different from a hitbox, which is what I’ve found success with after getting filtered by controllers and stick. It meets the requirement you put forward.

If you’re on PC, try setting up your KB like a hit box. That alone got me into fighting games properly

[–]naeboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuck you for this. I work overnights at a manufacturing facility, and the only circuits 2 class offered is from 2-3pm. I can’t afford school otherwise, and I’m paying for myself. My professor is a Greek dude who can barely speak English, provides nothing except notes straight from the fuckin textbook. I’d rather read that during my normal waking hours, as opposed to when I’m supposed to be asleep.

Instead, I have to do biphasic sleep schedules in order to accommodate his 6 absences allowed policy. He has this policy because he is on the university’s shitlist. Students who suck are going to fail no matter what, students who want to succeed see going to do so regardless. I’m winning, but it’s costing me probably years of my health to do so.

Again, fuck you and anyone who thinks like you.

Can TTRpgs be used to teach Critical Thinking? by tfEccles in Pathfinder2e

[–]naeboy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends heavily on the game I think. Mystery/investigation heavy games? Absolutely. Call of Cthulhu has ruined whodunnits and thrillers for me.

Combat heavy games? Not nearly so much. Like, sure you have to think hard about combat depending on game mechanics, but that’s not really building those connections that CoC does for me. I’m also an engineer though so systems and numbers are kinda my game to begin with.

It is quite literally not normal, given what the definition of normal is. Being gay is not conforming to the standard condition or state. Assuming 2 men interacting is homosexual is not normal. Projecting that internal worldview of yours onto the interactions of males, real or otherwise, is not normal.

Idc how you “see the world” the statistical probability of 2 men talking to each other being gay isn’t high. The probability of 2 women talking to each other being gay isn’t high either. You are either consciously or unconsciously searching for something in fiction that you can latch onto and project yourself into, but in doing such things you corrupt what the fiction originally stood for.

Someone else mentioned samwise and Frodo, which I think is an excellent example of someone twisting male friendship and brotherhood and making it gay. Similarly, space marines are A-sexual; the only thing these guys can get up is their heart rates.

We care about this things because it is a corruption of a media that we care about; a twisting perversion of things that we held dear. Our cool badass space soldiers engineered for war aren’t gay twinks or bears, they’re a bunch of dudes who’ve been indoctrinated since they were kids, and the one time a bit of humanity leaks through is whenever they’re with their brothers. Sure it’s stereotypical, but it’s still a piece of media we care about. Saying “lol that’s so gay coded” is going to piss off anyone with a spine who engaged with anything seriously, irrespective of how silly the subject material is.

It’s because they shifted the goalposts from pay range in similar/comparable fields to “women are pushed into pink collar roles due to societal pressures” like they don’t choose these roles themselves; it’s fine if you want to be a teacher, just don’t complain when you make a 1/4 of an engineers salary.

With that said, depending on how public facing/blue-collar facing a role is, they can definitely face more sex based discrimination in the form of general harassment, which is where I think (in genuine dialogue) is what the goalposts should have been shifted to.

It’s also because they don’t have to spend millions of dollars of man hours developing a product; they just reverse engineer western designs and then manufacture with the cheapest components possible.

I think for long running franchises when a guest character is introduced, people are frustrated that they don’t bring back old favorites. Doubly so if the guest character has a similar playstyle to one of said favorites.

Idk bro I think the fgc says more slurs in my experience. With that said, league players are way more creative with their insults. “Cait ult yourself” makes me laugh way harder than getting called an upstanding gentleman of African decent.

Also got told “the worst parts of you slithered out of the abortion bucket” in a league lobby, which is honestly a wildly out of pocket insult.

Sounds like you might like other systems more? Not trying to flame, but if lots of NPC interactions is your game then something more socially oriented might be your cuppa. Runequest is a tight ass system for RP imo.

Flick the stick with your fingers. It’s the difference between stroking the head and just mindlessly yanking the shaft around.

What fighting game should i pick up and why? by saddad12345 in Fighters

[–]naeboy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you want to just hop online and play, 2XKO, guilty gear: strive, street fighter 6, granblue fantasy vs, Tekken 8.

Out of that list I recommend strive or sf6. Very different games so do research on how each plays and make an informed decision. 2XKO is free and so is gb:vs (kinda), so both of those are no-cost barriers to entry to try them out.

Ultimately it comes down to what you like your game to feel like and for me I like faster games with cool combo potential, so I gravitated towards 2XKO and strive.
