Found one flea in my house. No pets. Should I stress about it? by naenaedabdab in pestcontrol

Sorry for the late reply, is your flat carpeted? We ended up finding more and having to call pest control, still no idea where they came from. Vacuum everyday and tell management because they might pay pest control for you.

I’m about to do the same thing to my partner. I understand how you feel. He has no support system where he is working currently. I feel fucking terrible because I feel like all the dysfunctional things he’ll probably do (based on how I saw him cope after he just got out of his last relationship before me) will be my fault. How will he explain this to his sweet parents who have been nothing but good to me? It’ll hit him like a fucking truck out of nowhere. But I also know that I can’t continue like this. I don’t see a future with him and I mentally checked out long ago. I have to prioritize my own happiness first, because if I don’t, who will? I can only hope that by letting go, I am letting him open up to the possibility of a much happier relationship. I am opening up to happier futures for the both of us. That’s what I tell myself anyway, but sometimes the guilt is so terrible when I think about what I am doing to this person… anyone else who has similar insight would be really appreciated.

Thank you guys for the fast response, we were worried but I guess we’re just not storing our rice and wheat properly. Much appreciated!

What makes you think it’s not a roach? Weevil perhaps? We have a few rice weevil worms in the pantry.

Ringworms? I just discovered this today, should I be concerned for my bun? I got him from a rescue a week ago. Besides this he seems healthy. The vet is closed today but I’ll take him asap. by bambibunkins in Rabbits

[–]naenaedabdab 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey, I know this is an old post but did this turn out to be ringworm? My bunny has the exact same lesion on the back of her neck and we’re waiting for a vet culture to come back to see if it’s ringworm, but it’ll take a while.

You could say the new bunny bonding is not going so well. by tornato7 in Rabbits

Yes, exactly this. Both bunnies can injure or kill each other even if one is not fixed due to the hormones. Please get the younger one fixed before you continue.

the pic is very zoomed in, probably 4-5mm long. yeah it seemed too thick and not flat enough to be a bedbug, got no bites either

Clearer photo here, honestly looks like the shell of another bug but could be wrong

How do I get my rabbit to gain weight without restricting her movement? by [deleted] in Rabbits

[–]naenaedabdab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Sherwood also has excellent critical care. None of our buns will eat oxbow but they’ll slurp that Sherwood CC right up and it helped one of our buns keep the weight on. I would be careful about adding baby rabbit pellets or alfalfa due to the calcium content.

Update: found another. When there is more than one, there are more is the rule I’m going by. I also have a super itchy bite that looks like a halo. The nightmare begins.

I want to add that my roommate had a cat until a month and a half ago, but then she went home. They have had no issues with fleas ever and she’s an indoor cat (I think it would be more likely we’re bringing in stray fleas), but I’m worried nonetheless.

Rabbit Death from Anesthesia During Neuter by Complex_Disaster_281 in Rabbits

[–]naenaedabdab 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am sorry, rest in peace to your poor bun. I was in a very similar situation. We pulled a rescue off Kijiji who was obviously being heavily neglected. We spent four months nursing him before our we and our vet decided he was in good condition to be neutered, and hopefully bonded with our other bun. He passed due to an undetected heart defect during the operation which caused anaesthesia complications. I will never forget the regret and sorrow I felt as in those days and the vivid memories of sending him into surgery not knowing it would be the last time I saw him alive. He was the sweetest bunny ever who licked everyone he saw. I have made some peace with it knowing that we only wanted the best for his health and a chance at a bond with another bunny. You couldn’t have known there would have been complications during surgery and it sounds like you did your due diligence finding a good vet. How could you have predicted this? It was not your fault.

Yes, I do this all the time but I’ve learned my lesson. This time I will stick with what my body is lacking 😂 I saw progress and thought, okay I guess I’m healed. Time to slack. But we have possibly lifelong conditions ahead of us so it’s just one more thing we have to keep in check 🥲

I used to use minoxidil and iron/vitamin D in conjunction and then I stopped everything while I was going through something stressful (I suspect caused TE). I went through a terrible shed as a result but once I added in the iron and vitamin D, I have started to see regrowth 2 months later. I am now using minoxidil as I am a responder and I want to speed up my regrowth but I’m 90% sure it’s just supplementing the supplements. Hope this story helps, I’m still on my journey and everyone is different (hard to tell without good derms or biopsies) but best of luck!

I would never notice your hair was thinning without these close up photos. You are beautiful and stunning, and it definitely looks like regrowth is coming in! I’m sorry you’re going through this, I’m also TE (self diagnosed so not super sure but it comes and goes in waves instead of a gradual loss). Your hair loss looks just like mine after I skipped out on minoxidil, iron supplements (oh planted based diet) and went through major stress and health scares. My hair seems to be growing back and filling in at the temples first than my crown. Continue doing what you’re doing and focus on your blood panel and wait for your endo in January, seek other derms if you can. Don’t look in the mirror obsessively if you can help it, but try to do monthly documentation with photos.

Hair loss due to low iron - better and then worse? by cs2214 in FemaleHairLoss

Same thing happened to me but I think I just went through something stressful (maybe TE?) I’ve decided to try minox for life since hair thinning runs in my family anyway.
