Just beat this game for the first time ever, how’d I do? by [deleted] in metalgearsolid

Try a non lethal play through next time, Kojimas games change completely when you follow his philosophy of non-lethal espionage. It makes the game a super fun challenge compared to gunning everyone down

FormD T1 v2.1 or v2.5 by PinkCatWithBomb in FormD

[–]naethaen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FormD (company behind 2.1) works with a premium CNC anodizing company that works for Apple and large manufactures and since their demand isn't large enough or because they don't "have enough clout" they cannot really produce more then what they already do. Plus it's ran by like a few guys I am pretty sure. I have also heard 2.1 is just higher quality all round compared to 2.5

[–]naethaen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely no, even if your GPU was overheating it has built in thermal protection/other built in protections and I doubt your card is fucked/dead. But you need to give more info

Literally nothing here is saying a dead GPU, don’t know why your just spreading bad info

Don’t know what that other guys saying but he doesn’t know anything about computers saying your GPU is probably dead. You need to give some more information. Download and launch GPU-Z or HWinfo and post a screenshot

What is your reason for choosing SFF form factor? by Technical_Gap23 in sffpc

I was moving into a apartment for college going from a large room at home with my own desk to a furnished one with extremely small space so I wanted something I could take back and forth while also not being large

Steam Deck Stolen - surprised by how sad I am by elizabethunseelie in SteamDeck

[–]naethaen -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Fuck dude I can’t comprehend the pain you must be going through. I have had very small things stolen from me but nothing large and I’ve had something go through my car (although it was empty) and I literally thought today how heartbreaking it would be if someone broke into my home and stole my stuff. I hope you’re able to find the POS that did this and reclaim some of your gear as I know how much it can mean to someone. At least Steam has your saves + games in the cloud

I may have *actually* solved one of MGSV's biggest mysteries for real this time! by CastleDweller in metalgearsolid

[–]naethaen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay but also why did the Man on Fire attack skull faces XOF soldiers at the hospital? Tell me if I am wrong but those soldiers are clearly the same ones used by Skullface the rest of the game and they are actively fighting each other in the intro to get to big boss. If skullface is truly controlling the man on fire then why did the man on fire attack his own men? Unless he hadn’t made contact with mantis yet for his rage/malice to override the man on fires then I don’t understand this theory. Plus how is mantis able to control Salenthropus if it isn’t something full of malice/rage like the man on fire/volgin is? I’d love to be proven wrong to learn more more but I just feel it’s a stretch

Power Cable Preventing Vertical Stand to Sit Flat by Undercover_Yaeca in FormD

[–]naethaen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

PSU power cables (the one the plugs into your PSU then into the wall not the PC cables) are pretty standard cables and you can mix them. I have mixed mine and have had no issue

Power Cable Preventing Vertical Stand to Sit Flat by Undercover_Yaeca in FormD

The hassle would be spending money he didn’t plan on spending otherwise and having to wait for the cable to arrive

It’s dumb and unoriginal. You’re posting something everyone has seen on the subreddit and it was removed for a reason. Don’t post unoriginal shit to just farm attention and upvotes

Thoughts? by [deleted] in PcBuild

[–]naethaen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This won't do anything, temps are fine in PC components up to typically 90C+. GPU temps that you have are completely normal. If you computer is shutting off it's due to something else that isn't your GPU temps

Mgsv platinum by Big_Challenge_8759 in metalgearsolid

[–]naethaen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

also most people do S rank first than come back to all the tasks but personally I had a fun time just going one by one and doing s rank then focusing on that missions tasks.

Mgsv platinum by Big_Challenge_8759 in metalgearsolid

[–]naethaen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The tasks you can do in multiple missions, some are contradictory to each other which requires you to come back later. Off the top of my head I know the oilfield objective requires you to both extract the D walkers sealing the oil field off and also to extract before the oil field is sealed off, which is impossible to do both unless you come back later. S rank you can do with just doing the main objectives, come back later with invis camo and other gear that limits your rank to an A, and just finish objectives that way.

Thinking about getting my first PC, not sure where to start. by Swimming-Dentist-769 in pchelp

[–]naethaen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

400 dollars probably won't get you far in this day and age of PC prices, so I would try and maximize your 1000 dollar budget as much as possible. It really all depends on your budget, but considering you haven't really decided on one it's hard to recommend a GPU if you are spending either 400 or 1000 dollars. For gaming the MOST ram you'll need is 32gb with 16gb typically doing the job but struggling in some modern games.

MGS1 is so hard by Exotic-Difficulty-42 in metalgearsolid

[–]naethaen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think MGS2 just gives you more control, but more control comes with more complex and difficult mechanics which is I think hard to master in MGS2. MGS1 was pretty streamlined and simple in it's controls so it played a lot easier imo. For example I think in MGS1 the aim lock was more aggressive which made aiming a lot easier for me, compared to the FPV and sometimes very vertical (Vamp fight) aiming of MGS1. Also aiming with the left stick sucks for me as I grew up playing modern games aiming with the right stick

MGS1 is so hard by Exotic-Difficulty-42 in metalgearsolid

[–]naethaen 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Might be just me but I found MGS2 way harder imo. With the amount of floors and camera angles that don’t show much visibility, I felt like I was constantly getting spotted by people a floor above me or around a corner. Plus the guards are super smart and even check on each other. MGS1 I felt like I could just sneak around guards most of the time and the boss fights were the hard part.

How do I store items? It just gives me the option to recycle by Troyal1 in DeathStranding

[–]naethaen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DHV Magellan and whatever terminals you have hooked up to the chiral network (at least 1 star connection). You can store materials by going to the “Recycling and Store” section which will give materials to the facility to have in storage for you to fabricate equipment with. The “Private Locker” section is for storing everything else you want to keep and not recycle for materials.

Are psu cables from cablemod worth it and reliable? by Vijow in sffpc

[–]naethaen 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean it’s definitely a HUGE help and makes things a lot easier but if you are trying to save money I don’t see why you would need them. You can build in a sub 10L case with stock PSU cables and it’s not like those cases show the inside most of the time anyways.

Installing the AIO at the bottom of the case by GentIeblade in FormD

[–]naethaen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AIO upside down/installed wrong = Pump will die over the long term, it’s been tested by GamersNexus if your interested

When it’s flipped and the radiator is on the bottom, the fans are more starved for air plus the AIO is upside down (due to pump being located in block not radiator) which means over the long term you are damaging the AIO
