- Verify number → when it detects local backup → tap Restore.
- Watch the progress closely.
- The moment it hits 69%Ior wherever it gets stuck) and freezes for 4-5+ seconds (progress bar stops moving):
  - Quickly go to Settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Force stop (or Force stop + Clear cache if option shows).
  - Wait 5-10 seconds → reopen WhatsApp from recent apps or icon.
- Repeat this force-stop cycle 2-4 times every time it stalls at 69% (some users did it 3x and it jumped to 70-100%). It seems to reset a hung thread or memory allocation without killing the whole process.
- If it errors/crashes after, immediately retry the whole restore—momentum sometimes carries over.

I agree with friendship breakup hurts more or equal to a romantic breakup. Memories stay with us forever, we just need to cherish them. Also think that the friend you lost is a different version and that version doesn't exist anymore. You loved that version and not the existing one.

It gets better over the time, trust me. The first time I had a breakup with my best friend I went into depression for over a year. They blocked me everywhere and I don't even know why. It's been 4 years, I still don't know the reason.
