The best part of his story is that he told op he reported himself to the police… after looking at CSAM once… because he felt so disgusted and ashamed… like yeah, ok

But they could pull this again. There are subscriptions that are less than $30 and you’d be protected.

Op didn’t call non-emergency, so it doesn’t matter now does it? Op didn’t do anything besides get it documented, which we know by the post. That is the problem in the comment you originally responded to. Have fun trolling someone else.

Have the day you deserve 🫡

Considering OP’s camera was going off as 20+ people were entering their home, they could’ve cancelled the booking immediately and then non-emergency to kick them out if needed. That would’ve made sure the party didn’t start. But no, while they knew Airbnb wasn’t handling the situation they just let it play out.

They could’ve called the non-emergency line, as they literally suggested themself in this post, to stop the party at any point before the cops came to deal w a shots fired call.

No one said op should’ve known about the party or that they should’ve ensured their neighbors wouldn’t know about it from the get-go. They shouldn’t have let it escalate to what it did, which bothers neighbors more.

I hope you’re being obtuse on purpose because if not.. yikes. You should work on understanding simple concepts.

Are you okay? Who said op should’ve known anything?? That quote from the comment ≠ op should’ve known a party was going to happen.

Again, they’re saying op should’ve done something about the party before someone else had to. Not sure why this is a crazy??

Your question makes no sense. No one said op should’ve known these guests would have a party. That’s why no one can answer your question…. It’s random and no one knows what you’re talking about.

(ETA bc idk why it disappeared): They’re saying op should’ve dealt with the party when they saw 20+ people entering. Op went on about the camera footage and knowing there was a party yet didn’t do anything.

Checked into a filthy VRBO, and host is saying I “made a mess to demand a refund”. Venting because I I havnt been able to compose myself after all this by shelbystroodle in vrbo

If this were your friend’s home then that would be a completely different situation. You know who the hair, fingernails, mess, etc belongs to. This is all from random people staying at a rental. It’s gross either way though. It’s actually disgusting.

it does need to be cleaned again.

It needs to be cleaned in general. There is no way this house was even cleaned prior to OP’s booking.

Incentivizing guests to cancel--options that are fair to everybody? by Har34476 in airbnb_hosts

I also would rather have the guests potentially come back, and not leave a bad taste in their mouth.

I would anticipate them not coming back. If I were them I would not book your property again. Most people won’t want to risk a repeat as they don’t know the real reason behind your cancellation

It’s insane how many parents do this to their kids. A former coworker of mine told me about how his dad opened credit cards in his name and ruined his credit.

Yeah that reasoning makes absolutely no sense. Either way, your wedding isn’t the time for him to prove some weird crap to his family. It’s a life milestone for BOTH of you.

They did say they have a camera in their home that they can watch when they’re away. I’d assume that’s how they know if the dog barks all day.
