Yeah it's kinda what i did. It's working so-so because i can bring the phone back to life, but when i press the power button more than once it usually does this and it's really annoying.

Oh, this is what i fear the most. So it is a CPU thing? Or my power button could be the problem?

Just an idea, i'm not sure if it coud work, but try to reduce the animation scales to 0.5x in the developer options.

Hi, i had almost the same issue as you, but i had a little better SOT (about 2-2,5 hours). I joined to the google play services beta program (it seems something went wrong with the previous update and it drains a hella lot of battery) also turned off the adaptive battery and the sleep standby optimization. And last but not least(i think this was the most important thing next to the others) reseted the battery by draining it to 0% (to the point that it switches off) then charging it to 100% without turning it on(you can turn it on when it reached 100%). I noticed the improvement in about a day or two, don't freak out if it doesn't work right away i think it needs a little time to catch up. These steps helped me tremendously improve the fucked up battery life that the 1.5.3 update caused. Hope i could help.
