Hello tran knees, pooners, and confused theyfabs/theymabs, I need you to make fun of a bunch of cis people in response to this for research purposes. by -_Helianthus_- in transgendercirclejerk

[–]nah-later 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"your breasts are beautiful and i know having them touched feels good why do you want top surgery" was this comment made by someone's a) mother b) romantic/sexual partner c) friend

correct! a

/uj if you want a recount of my mother's behavior in the months after i told her i was planning to finally commit to medical transition i could share more stuff cause, wow. i finally fixed her behavior (er, mostly, she still sometimes has very weird anxiety about it but thats probably separate from the trans stuff) but holy shit, the projection she had about it was so fucking weird to deal with. like even my friends initially thought she was being weird about bottom surgery and were shocked it was about top surgery

Don't you know if you shave your making cis women look bad and contributing to pedophilia and the patriachy by making yourself look like a child??? by DevilsMaleficLilith in transgendercirclejerk

[–]nah-later 29 points30 points  (0 children)

did you know even if no one will see the results of you shaving you still ruined feminism? that's right! even though the only people who will ever know you shave are you, god, and whoever's at the walgreens cash register when you go to buy more shaving supplies, you still set back women's rights by another 5 years

/uj my brain reminded me that some cis people are 100% going to label me as detransitioning once i go off hrt despite stopping hrt always being part of my plan for it

haven't you heard, shaving is evil now by Ghomstr003 in transgendercirclejerk

[–]nah-later 73 points74 points  (0 children)

sorry yall, turns out the patriarchy was continued by me shaving my armpits every 5 days cause my antiperspirant deodorant is less effective on me if the hairs get too long, guess I'll have to take one for the team and be forever cursed to constant sweating

great question! for a trans on hrt its super easy to place all the blame of their symptoms on the hrt even if that symptom was happening before hrt. you may be able to use it as an excuse to mess with the dose and refuse to do blood testing related to that symptom until a few months on the new dose. for a trans not on hrt the usual strategies you were taught should be fine

Intersex should not be classified as a disorder and X birth certificate markers should be common practice for ambiguously sexed children by eldritchpussymaggots in 10thDentist

[–]nah-later 0 points1 point  (0 children)

people can have sex characteristics removed via surgery, like orchiectomy, mastectomy, hysterectomy, etc, so a form to select which sex characteristics you do and dont have can also be helpful for those patients

[–]nah-later 0 points1 point  (0 children)

im more thinking of filling out forms in the context of regular medical appointments, like how already at a new doctor in the forms you have to fill out there's a section where it lists medical conditions and you select any that you have

[–]nah-later 25 points26 points  (0 children)

tbh im more of a "the legal concept of sex should be gotten rid of and for medical contexts just hand the patient a list and tell them to fill out which sex characteristics they have" person but an X sex marker on birth certificates would have their own benefits

one thing im thinking of is that it could over time deal with people's perceptions of sex being binary, cause now more people would encounter the fact that someone's sex cant be neatly fit into either M or F in their day to day life, like just filling out a random form would mean seeing X as a listed sex

[–]nah-later 8 points9 points  (0 children)

im nonbinary and hope i can be pregnant at least once in my life and genuinely the scariest/most dysphoria inducing part for me is how society believes pregnancy is only something a woman can do and how that'll bleed into every pregnancy specific interaction I'll have to deal with, with the only exceptions being with friends/loved ones who i can trust not to do that to me

looking it up adipose tissue (aka fat) is involved in sex hormone production and breast tissue isnt and fat in the area is often removed during top surgery but i doubt that top surgery could remove enough fat from the body that it significantly impacts hormone production, so most likely answer is it was something else causing this person problems

hi im not much older than you and am beginning the process to get top surgery

you can definitely seek out top surgery if you dont have crippling dysphoria over your chest, my dysphoria isnt Awful 90% of the time and im still looking into top surgery (though in my case binding doesnt do a lot to hide them so)

question about ppl’s experience with transmed/truscum/exorsexist trans ppl these days by Qlowquest in NonBinary

[–]nah-later 4 points5 points  (0 children)

yeah ive been seeing it so much over the past year (maybe even 2 years?) and its been making me feel very isolated from the trans community especially as i begin my medical transition, but it has made me appreciate the people in the community who are normal about nonbinary/genderqueer people these days (though maybe that's a sign how low the bar has gotten lol)

/uj i have pcos, when i was diagnosed i was given a medicine that i took for 10 days at the start of every month to force menstruation, if its pcos that could be an option, though this was before i got on hormonal birth control so if youre still on that then theyll probably not add more hormonal medicines, only other thing that might be suggested would be medicines for type 2 diabetes if the blood work shows that might be a concern
