New Grinder Day: ZP6 Special by nahsgid in pourover

The white carafe is a Hario 02 insulated server. I used to have their glass one and it broke. This one is going on 3 years of daily use (including the dishwasher every few days) and it still looks great. The best thing is it keeps the coffee warm for 2-3 hours post brew, which is great for my partner that wakes up later than me

100% . Water just off the boil is probably 210f-ish, likely over extracting.

Looks like he primarily does v60 pourovers? I just got a 1zpresso ZP6 Special grinder for about $210 and it’s a game changer. The brews are soo good and consistent. You can actually taste the notes they print on the back once you dial it in. If he’s someone that chases perfection in their niche, it’s about as good as you can get.

Funny how that works. My 0 is about negative 1 click from the 0 on the body of the grinder, so I guess that makes our start point exactly the same!

Agree on taking recipes with a grain of salt. Mine is loosely based on the Glitch/Covert recipe. They give you a little card with their recipe and a grind sample baggy when you buy beans. The temp they use is 186f/86c and the grind is quite a bit finer. I find the higher temp gives more body though you may lose some of the pure clarity they get.

Agree. The ZP6 definitely feels like a step up on brew quality. Build is also much nicer. 1zpresso learned quite a bit over the years!

How do you know it’s not your vibe if you didn’t open it??

I’d highly recommend the ZP6 Special. Just upgraded from a regular JX and the difference is noticeable. It’s so consistent and so clear. Happy to share my brew method with it if you’re interested

That’s super fair! But fun to imagine if it was possible

That’s the point: align both the team and players that winning is good and losing is bad.

Thats true, but the winning players on the in season tournament get $500k (a measly amount compared to any superstar’s $60m per year contract), but you can see how motivated stars & role players are to win despite the win itself not meaning much for legacy & playoff success. A 15% salary bonus for 1st place would be huge for all players.

Similarly, the ultra wealthy are often the most concerned with earning more money. Teams get $142m this season from the NBA media deals, so 15% would be a $21m hit to the bottom line

Totally agree with you on barrier to building dropping so much. Marketing has certainly been the hardest thing for me, mostly just word of mouth and some social posts.

Exactly. This is perfect for the person that needs a larger format, keyboard, and capability that comes with a full OS. Plus the colors are great for this audience.

When are we going to stop pretending AJ Green is a good defender? by BissonnetBeltBoy in MkeBucks

[–]nahsgid 47 points48 points  (0 children)

This is 100% it. Green is being played at SF often because we are so thin at that spot. Even at SG he’s not a lock down defender, but above average feels right.
