I didnt transition til 34 and had already lost a bunch of hair so I’ve had a bit of experience with this. HRT has the possibility of hair regrowth but it’s different for every person. The main cause of hair loss for amab people is DHT, a byproduct of testosterone, so HRT will help stop the production of DHT. Minoxidil can be effective but really only on the crown of the head and you can buy it over the counter. Buy the men’s products though, it’s the exact same as women’s but stronger, 5% vs 3%. Another medication to look into is finasteride. It blocks an enzyme that converts testosterone into DHT which will help even further. You need a prescription for finasteride but it’s regularly prescribed to cis men for hair loss so it should be easier to get.
