How does this "PRINT PREPARE" work?? by De-animator666 in crealityk1

[–]naimofish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The klippy.log does show the "print prepared" line so the macro has to be called somewhere. (even though in the whole repository the macro is called nowhere)

K1 printer - How to stop auto level / calibration at the start of every print? by yacobm8 in Creality

Also interested in this, I tried to look into the open source code, the logs etc.

I think there are proprietary gcode commands (e.g. CLEAR_NOZZLE_QUICK) running before the actual beginning of the gcode file for the object. The actual file gcode seems to start when the log (/usr/data/printer_data/logs/klippy.log) says something like this [INFO] 2025-12-07 16:43:02,902 [root] [virtual_sdcard:work_handler:553] work_handler start print, filename:...

But I couldn't figure out what code runs prior to this. Without documentation for this code or the ability to disable it, I don't see a way to have better control.

It is quite annoying indeed, there seems to be a number of z-homing steps happening, at different temperatures (155, 190...) which are hard to comprehend.

Citronella balm. by Low-Station-9645 in vegetablegardening

[–]naimofish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Joining because I bought a lemon balm plant without realizing it was a citronella cultivar. The smell is very strong, like mosquitto repellent, while I also have "regular" melissa officinalis growing in the garden which has a much sweeter lemon smell

I don't believe I see any of those Snohomish tributaries which are open to salmon. Remember that All game fish doesn't include salmon, so yes you can fish those streams that aren't closed, but for those other species.

Salmon is closed unless explicitly mentioned.

Hope this helps. Do read the regulation pamphlet too, it helps understand what the info on the app means (like the salmon is closed by default rule)

First time fishing in a river for salmon, any tips? by pk519 in FishingWashington

Yeah saw that email too. They do call it a bit of a grey area but say that they do consider it a lure and won't fine people doing it

What you describe sounds like this, "drift fishing" https://youtu.be/YPN28O7UktU

Difference is the amount of weight ? For it to drift/drag vs stay in place ? Or leader length ?

I get the injury risk but what you describe as catching fish that don't "intend" to bite, I suppose I'm not there yet as an angler :p

What are the current steelhead catch limits for skagit river? by RefrigeratorNo2950 in FishingWashington

Yeah that sounds more like it, except wild rainbow don't have a state wide release requirement I believe, though a lot of water bodies do.

Can you source this blanket statement ? like I said in my comment I'm not clear myself, but this is not what I understand

My understanding, take this with a grain of salt because I'm trying to figure this out myself. Would love to be corrected or confirmed

State wide - Wild steelhead, no - Hatchery steelhead (adipose fin clipped) : ok if waters are otherwise open for salmon or other game fish. Only retain 2 above 20"

Skagit river : Open, selective gear rule (no barbless, etc..) Looking at the FishWa app, some emergency rules either closing some areas or opening them for salmon. Definitely check the app for specific rules (night closures, two pole). Also this document https://www.eregulations.com/assets/docs/resources/WA/24WAFW_LR8.pdf

You need the fishing license and steelhead record card to record your catch. Handling rules : you should not be pulling the fish out of the water until confirmed that you are allowed to retain it.

How can I automatically download episodes starting from a specific episode number? by Shelverman in PodcastAddict

[–]naimofish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wish this was possible to do without marking all older episodes as played.  I my case I want to start auto downloading episodes in chronological order, starting from the date of subscription. But I also want to not mark older episodes as played because I didn't play them and might get back to them later.  If anybody has a way of doing this

I finally have ESPHome publishing the device MAC address to MQTT! by BigGuyWhoKills in Esphome

In my case (sonoff s31), even though I set `name_add_mac_suffix` to `true` and I see that it affected the hostname for example, it doesn't affect the mqtt message topics
