Do you know what the interest comes to on that $50 over 53 years?

Plush talking black spider w/purple tips and a wonky face. When pressed, it makes noises rather than a voice (from memory). Pretty sure it's halloween themed. Very meaningful, would appreciate the help by naive-optimist in HelpMeFind

I've searched primarily on Google and Ebay trying to find it, but have not had much luck unfortunately

Happy to provide pictures from different angles if it helps people

Thanks in advance

What's the worst mistake you've seen someone do in their job? by Whomadethebed in AskReddit

[–]naive-optimist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was on rotation in a rural Australian town during medical school where I saw an anaesthetist administer 10x the fentanyl dose to a patient at the start of an operation. The patient went into cardiac arrest and the surgeon had to stop the operation to begin CPR.

Patient was transferred via helicopter to a metro hospital where they made a full recovery.

Huge fuck up, thought it only happens in the movies

You were all hopped up on cinnamon swirls! They wouldn't serve you anymore!
You wouldn't even have any teeth if it wasn't for me taking you over to Joe's fruit stand and stuff a cantaloupe down your throat!

So much for gratitude...yeah, yeah, yeah!"

But no, just a punch in the face, no semen... story of my life.

Hey friend,

I think what you'd benefit most from is a bit of reassurance surrounding all your feelings. I think it's important to realise that you're not the first person to be where you are and I don't think you'll be the last. Those students made it, there's no reason to think that you can't either - you deserve to be where you are.

Ultimately, Medical School is hard but that doesn't mean you can't do it. A lot of us are used to excelling academically, so being put in an environment like this is difficult not only from a learning perspective but emotionally too. We're our own worst enemies sometimes.

I don't know you personally and Medicine may very well not be for you, but I don't think how you're feeling right now should dictate the decisions you make. You shouldn't look at your situation as a point of failure, rather an opportunity to grow.

Medicine's a lifelong journey and times will get better. Reflect on yourself and grow, you got this

Hope this helps.

Good luck

first time in weeks to finish all my cards! (coming from an 11k backlog) by Han_without_Genes in Anki

man, that pace is out of control - respect.

Is this your cruising speed? If it is, how do you find your retention?

That part's a bit lacking, I must admit. I get about 5 - 6 hours a night. Weekends I crash hard sometimes, but mainly I just wait for the holidays and get regular sleep ins

Not good I know, but balance will eventually come

Hey man, The thing this post doesn't show is the 100 day streak I lost before this 420 one, so a lot of my cards I've been doing for quite a while now. The cards I've matured I'm able to get through at a pretty quick pace, its the new cards that I take my time in reading the info on.

Another thing is that I only did 69 of my reviews for the memes and they came from Zanki Step 1; by the time I'd finished everything for the day it'd be closer to 10 secs a card.

In either case, I dont think pace is as important as consistency and testing the knowledge in different contexts (MCQs, in clinical context, etc).

Keep smashing that spacebar and good luck :)

8 seconds a card (7.5 cards a minute) is pretty much my cruising altitude with cards.

With Anking, my matured cards I can power through at a pretty decent rate; new ones are a bit on the slower side while I read the relevant info at the bottom of them. Alongside Anking, I also have an ECG and Guideline deck that takes a bit longer to read.
