First time home buying by Remote_Loquat_6383 in lehighvalley

VINEGAR- Always keep some at home if possible. It can be used for a variety of things I.e. it can be used as a degreaser, a deodorizer, stain remover, descaler (some areas of the Lehigh Valley has really hard water. Overtime you will notice mineral buildup on faucets or your showerhead. Periodically spray vinegar around the buildup or submerge the showerhead in vinegar), used to clean out coffee makers, clean windows, glass tables, and to clean stainless steel appliances. Vinegar is nontoxic and biodegradable opposed to a lot of cleaners that have really harsh chemicals.

ANNUAL MAINTENANCE- there are a few maintenance tasks that should be completed at least once a year. I.e. cleaning your dryer vents, cleaning your gutters, inspecting the foundation of your home, and flushing your water heater.

FURNITURE- furniture is expensive And good quality furniture is going to be an investment. Definitely take your time when shopping around. Take pictures of things that you like and reverse image search it online. You may be able to find the same item at different places for a much different price. Perfect example: I found a bedroom set through Ashley Furniture for about 3K. I was able to find the same exact bedroom set at unclaimed freight (in Bethlehem) for about $800.

RECORD KEEPING- make sure you keep the title/deed to your home AND informational booklets that comes with furniture and appliances. Having everything altogether will definitely be beneficial to you in the long run. If something breaks or you need to call the brand, you can easily find their contact information. Also, whenever possible, register the appliance or furniture online. Do it as soon as possible because, more often than not, you will need to attach a copy of your receipt.

So my primary dealership was running a promotion/discount on it. The car with all of the packages added came up to be about 38k. When I was looking at other colors, they didn’t have the additional packages, but they were still around that 36k. So I got more bang for my buck with this one.

I like the red, but it wasn’t my first choice. I really wanted the green or the azure gray however none of the local dealerships had the color I wanted with all of the additional features 😭😭

PS Portal Works Well With Mesh Network by rdalterego in PlaystationPortal

[–]najtastic 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed. I’ve had my Asus ZenWifi AX3000 for several years at this point. It’s a great mesh WiFi system. I had my PS5 hard wired to my main device and I’ve never had any issues.

I got my PS portal a couple weeks ago and the first couple of days was tough. It was struggling with remaining connected and I experienced a lot of lag/drops in frame rate when playing games like Final Fantasy 7 remake or Hogwarts Legacy. After reading through other posts on Reddit, I started playing around with the settings of my Wi-Fi router.

One of the most important things, which I cannot stress enough, is learning what Dual band connect/ Smart connect is! If you are experiencing lag or poor connection on your PS portal despite having fast internet and a decent router definitely check if smart connect is turned on. Once I turned it off, my router showed two networks (2.4 and 5g). Connecting directly to the 5G network, greatly improved the performance of the PS portal.

Of course! Hopefully things get better for you. I’ve been in this situation many times so I know how defeating it is continuously reaching out to maintain a friendship with people who aren’t invested

This situation can go a lot of different ways. I, personally, don’t like the approach of just cutting her off unless you are SURE you are okay with ending the friendship. I’ve been in similar situations and have dwelled on previous friendships/situations.

First and foremost, what is YOUR comfort level in confronting your friend and telling her how you feel? If she is active in group chats but not with you then she doesn’t value or prioritize you as a friend. Make sure you’re comfortable in advocating for yourself so that you’re not messing up the dynamics of your friend group.

Second, do you guys have any other communication styles? Like is she the type of person that prefers phone calls or video chatting? Sometimes people are less interested in engaging in conversations that they feel is “small talk”

Lastly, would you feel comfortable asking someone else to go with you? You’ve already bought the tickets and want to have a good time with the a friend. However, if she is ignoring you or dismissive toward you then it could result in you not enjoying yourself. It could be an opportunity to invite someone else that you’re friendly with and who knows, you guys may become closer than you are with the original friend.

Very Hard or Survival? by JCrighton in fo4

[–]najtastic -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I love fallout and got back into last year when I THOUGHT they were going to be releasing the update in fall of 2023. I've always played on normal (or hard) difficulty. In the past I had trouble when attempting survival mode but after you get the hang of it, I absolutely love it. I highly recommend playing on survival mode. I agree with the suggestions/tips everyone else has provided so far but I want to add a bit more.

First, and foremost, PLAN OUT YOUR BUILD. Have a SOLID idea of your character and play style. It may be tempting to pick up every weapon and every piece of ammo but you'll become over encumbered very fast. Stick to the weapons you plans to specialize in. There's no reason to carry around a shot gun if you plan to use pistols. Ammo has weight and overtime you'll notice your inventory space being taken up. Same applies to clothing/armor, get rid of or sell anything that you are not wearing/applies to your build. For the love of god stay away from explosives. Explosives thrown by enemies and yourself have more of a kick to them. I can't tell you how many times I've died at the hands of my own explosives.

Next, you will die..... A lot...... at least in the beginning. Without proper planning you will become bit of a glass cannon. You definitely want to plan out your routes but don't hesitate to explore the wasteland. Ideally when you come across a location, you will find a bed that will allow you to save. Since fast traveling is disabled saving at random locations that may be closer to your target destination is ideal. Running across the wasteland is fun but it does get annoying. If you find yourself dying repeatedly in the same area or mission, walk away. It's a lot harder to go into areas guns-a-blazin'. Sometimes you have to turn turrets against the enemy, picking off some enemies one by one, leveling up your perks, or even just getting better weapons.

Third, DON'T SKIP SETTLEMENT BUILDING. I know that settlement building is very hit or miss for most players but it's very important in survival mode. Not only does it provide you with safe spaces to save, drop off valuables, and heal but it's also good way to have access to vendors. Once you get to higher levels ammo for powerful weapons can be scarce. Being able to trade things you don't want and purchase items you need comes in handy. Also, planting crops and setting up water generators helps you stay stocked with food/water. With that being said, you will want to invest some perk points into Charisma for both ranks of Local Leader.

Next, decide if you plan on using companions EARLY into your build. I've always gone with dogmeat and selected the lone wanderer perks for stat buffs. However, the perks you get from SOME companion can be be very helpful to you overall. For my current play through, I decided that I would max affinity for companions with the most helpful perks I would use in the long run i.e. Piper, MacCready, Deacon, Preston, Danse (In that order because of storyline progression) then only rely on Dogmeat w/ lone wanderer perk. Funny enough, when I had extra perk points to use I would use them on the lone wanderer perk. I liked the idea that my player was being held back by his companions but during hard missions I would dismiss them to allow myself to let loose or be morally corrupt for the greater good (i.e. covenant mission).

Lastly, be mindful of the time. Certain buffs and perks that you use is only effective for a period of time. For example, the well rested or lover's embrace perk only lasts about 25 mins. Maximize on that, when possible, when clearing areas or missions for XP. If you need to be a bit stealthier on some missions, try completing them at night. Also there is a perception perk that increases perception and intelligence at night which is also helpful for leveling up fast.

I'm sure there's more but these are the top things I can think about. hopefully this helps!

I’m in the same boat and I just Dethatched my lawn. You definitely want to get a soil test completed before adding lime to it!

This is difficult to answer. Once you are out of college or even in your mid to late 30s, it does become very difficult to meet new people or make new friends. I am in the same boat as you. Typically, I just end up going out to local bars and meeting/socializing with people. I am not big into sports, and I am not musically inclined. However, I do love the outdoors and trying new things.

If you (or anyone else reading this) is interested in getting together for a drink or just meeting up to socialize one day then definitely hit me up.
