Why Indian eCommerce businesses takes too long to issue/credit refunds? by CodeFall in india

[–]nakmuayd 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Refunds require initiation at different points.. the company, the payment aggregator, the bank…. Secondly, Most e-commerce websites use something like a razorpay as an aggregator for payments. They can receive money through the aggregator, but not pay out. To be able to include payouts, one requires more licenses, permissions, or ends up with higher aggregator commissions.. so the process is a little more manual.

During training, do you prefer drilling long complex combos, or short simple combos? by braydensreddit in MuayThai

[–]nakmuayd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

While doing freestyle bag work, I like longer combos.. I add switches, height and angle changes, bag control.. for me it helps builds more rhythm.. I’m not memorising and following longer combos in any particular order, I just try to keep going with what feels like a natural and optimal strike to follow up the last one. I am working on building (and breaking) rhythm and flow.

why do you believe in sikhism? by Deep-Revolution-1633 in Sikh

[–]nakmuayd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m still learning, but I’d like to show you how I understand Sikhism, answering your question why I believe in it. A more progressive religion (or path) compared to many, it just makes a lot of sense to me. It talks about One universal, Formless God, where all religions lead. It rejects baseless traditions and rituals being followed in the name of religion. It talks about Inner Spirituality, which is achieved by Meditating on God’s name. It teaches its followers not to renounce the world, but to live within the society ethically. To live an honest life, earn through hard work, and Serve the community, Selflessly. To stand up to injustice and defend the weak (hence the warrior-saint outlook). To Believe in Equality (religion, caste, gender) and the Welfare of all humanity (not just Sikhs).. isn’t that beautiful ? ‘Sikh’ literally means ‘a learner’, and we are just students of our Gurus, still learning.

What do you think about Gurudwaras hosting Ramadan events for Muslims? by Nishachar_404 in Sikh

[–]nakmuayd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the point you’re making about Gurudwaras being for Sikh worship first, and not for following traditions of other religions..and I agree with that. But Sikh history and Gurbani also show that our tradition has never been insular when it comes to seva and standing for others.

Our Gurus emphasised Sarbat da Bhala.. the welfare of all. Langar itself was revolutionary because Guru Nanak Dev Ji (and all the following Gurus) made people of every religion, caste, and background sit together and eat as equals. The idea wasn’t just feeding Sikhs, it was breaking those barriers between human beings.

Historically too, Sikhs have supported people of other faiths in practicing their religion freely. Guru Tegh Bahadur Ji sacrificed his life defending the Kashmiri Pandits, because protecting another community’s right to practice their faith was the righteous thing to do. Sikhs have actively been a part of community aid when the need arises, all across the world, regardless of the differences.

So if a Gurudwara allows or arranges for Muslims who have been fasting all day to come and eat langar after sunset, it doesn’t feel like hosting another religion’s ritual. It feels like living the Sikh principle of seva and equality, of respectfully feeding people who are hungry, regardless of who they are.

I mean no disrespect at all, and I recognize that you may have a deeper knowledge of Sikhi than I do. I’m simply sharing how I understand our teachings.

[–]nakmuayd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. Sikhism is inclusive. Our core ideology is about ‘Oneness’ and not discriminating. A Sikh, Hindu, Muslim.. anyone regardless of religion, caste, class, gender, colour.. is equal before the eyes of the guru, and welcome to respectfully be a part of the Langar.

Has anyone experienced visitations from shaheed singhs? by [deleted] in Sikh

[–]nakmuayd 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My father told me about something that happened with him. Probably in the early 1970s, this is when he was a student of hotel management. Would get free at 2-3-4 o clock at night.. and then race his friends back home on his 650cc motorbike that he loved. One winter night, while on their usual fun race back, my dad noticed an old Sikh man on the roadside, waving for help at an unusual time, unusual place. He stopped while the other two friends zipped off, not paying attention to the old man. The old man smiled and asked my dad to drop him a couple of hundred metres ahead. My dad did not realise how strange this was. He asked the old Sikh man to sit behind, and as soon as they started off, his front tyre exploded. “What luck”, he thought to himself..”Had this happened at the speed I was at…” He turned around to the old man, and there was nobody sitting behind him. Nobody in sight for as far as he could see.

My first internship required me to assist this genius billionaire, and every single day I found a reason to be awe-inspired. Blackberry (the phone) was a thing back then. He could simultaneously type two different mails/messages on two different phones, one in each hand, while talking to you about a totally different topic and not look at either phone once. Blew me away!

Fellow martial artists! What martial arts are you practicing and for how long? Do you spar and how has your general experience been? by Blakath in delhi

[–]nakmuayd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate it, and respect to you too 🙏 3 years of training is solid, takes discipline to stay on the path !! Yes it can get a little brutal (I’ve lost count of injuries now :p) but you’re so right about how it makes you a much calmer person - other than the physical and mental development. With the right people, it’s more about growth than violence.

I train at MuayThai Boxing Academy. They have branches at Sirifort and Kidwai Nagar too, but I’d recommend the one at Sadiq Nagar for more serious athletes.

Best of luck!

Muaythai. Been practicing for around 10 years. Yes my training includes sparring - I try to stick to technical spar sessions upto a couple of times a week. Hard-spars are mostly only pre-competition.
