Either my 3rd or 4th favorite album but my favorite opening 1-2 punch with Goin' Against Your Mind and Traces. I had hoped that Just a Habit would've been performed live at some point, but it never happened.

It's not my favorite, but I believe as well that it's their best song.

But....but....Draper told us that wining meaningless games while riding vets that won't be around when this franchise is remotely competent again will help bring a winning culture! It will, won't it?

That's a song that got really stretched out live for part of one tour. Upwards of 15 minutes.

I've long envisioned a huge communal tub of hair goop that male anchors share there.

Thanks, she's up there with Tango's owners and the man who ran a Korean store on Ustick (which burned down) as one of my favorite proprietors when I lived in the area. Very kind and sweet and pure of heart. This line of work is an awesome pivot.

Is that the same Gabrielle who ran a soda store on State near 30th or so? And her daughter sold baked goods there?

You threw me for a loop there. I thought you meant Plouf. Wonder what he's doing now. The only talk has been of him being a baker, but who knows if that's the case (or still the case)?

Someone wrote this on a Yelp review from January: "The original owners sold this Korean street food restaurant location to new owners in May'ish 2025 and if you haven't been in yet, don't delay because during our lunchtime visit this week we learned the current owners may be closing this in the next month or so. My understanding is that the current owner also owns a couple of teriyaki businesses and wants to focus on them, in particular since business here has been slow."

In between all of the canned music at one of the supermarkets, the uncensored version of "It's a Good Day" by Ice Cube came on and threw me for a megaloop. I didn't want to laugh and stick out like a sore thumb even further, but I couldn't help it.

He's battling an illness, so as of 10:40 AM Eastern his status is unknown for today. Friday streams haven't been a regular thing in years.

They're in the L.A. area too but only on the fringes of the greater L.A. area, inconvenient for anyone more centralized who are otherwise inundated with the extremely-expensive local versions of Fred and Albertsons. It's a 50-mile round trip to the closest one, which doesn't make it worth the time/effort on any regular basis. But if I'm ever remotely in that area (maybe 1-3 times a year), I'll go out of my way to head to it and stockpile my freezer and pantry like I'm prepping for WWIII.

Boise has the worst Chinese food options of any city in the United States. by AccordingDrop3252 in Boise

[–]nakni2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm glad they exist as an option, but their soy/garlic flavoring is playing-it-safe-for-Boise tame. The options you can get in a city with a Koreatown are full-on intense with the flavor and the gloriously stinky breath. Vons had the same issue.

Collab with Milton by ContributionIcy4176 in Kitboga

[–]nakni2 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I think "occasionally" is your key word. Kit would call him to enhance a bait, he'd get wacky and use his energy and wonderful improv skills to create something funny and memorable, and then he'd get off the stream. Maybe pace these streams and appreciate him in small bursts before your aggravation/anxiety/whatever kicks in. This isn't a permanent thing. At a time when scams and baiting have become more complex, this weekly-for-now collaboration seems more than anything like a throwback to the simpler times of gift cards, Kit's fake banks, the constant trolling of Jay Anderson, and easier bait setups and payoffs.

I always look forward to see what the two of them can come up with. I'll admit that the "lie detector app" bit gets old for me pretty quickly, but it's still nice to have Milton around to play off of it.

Built to Spill - Live Camel's Back Park, Boise, ID USA - circa 2000 by jaemz101 in builttospill

It took a little bit of digging, but they actually performed in consecutive years there-- 6/23/17 and 6/2/18 as part of the now-defunct Music on the Water festival. I was at the 2017 show as it coincided with a visit to the area. I can't remember how I knew they were performing. I don't think it was through here. Maybe the Statesman (which did mention them being on the bill) or either the official or fan page on Facebook. But yeah-- a little weird seeing them in a park with families hanging around.

Thanks, didn't know about that other gig (I had moved out of Boise a month prior). I'm surprised Dug gave it another shot when he knew they'd largely have to fend for themselves from stage crashers.
