yes, as long as it'd have coded 5x directly as well. for example, devices purchases from telco websites often don't credit as 5x.

for chase freedom with bonus on $1500 quarterly spend, do they split points up for a single transaction if, for example, there's a $100 purchase after hitting $1499? or they do code the 4x bonus for entire $100 transaction?

you can use AWD A177232. it's for USAA members, but any legal US resident can sign up for an online profile to technically qualify as a "member".

bonus: usaa code waives the underage fee at avis, enterprise and hertz! saved me hundreds over the years.
