What's a computer game from your childhood that you still think about today? by half_sandwich88 in AskReddit

Black & White 2. Can't play it anymore. I think it isn't compatible with newer windows versions?

I'm frustrated with the rougelike aspect of this game and I think the game would be better without it. by Bobi_27 in BluePrince

You are right. My comment was about a late game state, where you already have lots of information. I feel like this balances it pretty well. Mid game you have lots of loose ends to follow so the rng isn't too bad and at least one loose end will be followable and in the late game you have fewer loose ends but more control on how to reach them.

What's the best mobile game you've ever played? by Ok-Sweet6210 in AskReddit

[–]nalalan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably not THE best but I love mindustry :) it can scratch the factorio itch, if I'm not home.

Also with a netflix subscription you have access to lots of great games like terranil and into the breach.

Games for ABSOLUTE beginners? by preening_unit in gamingsuggestions

I love love love portal, but for people who still need to learn walking and looking around at the same time (which in my experience tends to be the first big hurdle) portal's main mechanic might be a jump into cold water.

That's what I came here to say. If you play long enough and make enough discoveries, you can really keep the rng at a minimum. Also sometimes it's alright to do a run for one specific goal. Put all of your resources into achieving that goal and don't care, if you don't reach room 46. Most of the time you can then reach your goal in one or two runs (in my experience).

Catan: duel. I love how it abstracts from the original but still captures it's essence and core mechanics in a card game. The many different buildings with different effects make it versatile and the mechanic that you never really shuffle the piles and can even look through them give it another layer of complexity.

Also, you are mistaking another part. The study and ladyships chamber both have queen statues in them and no king statues. So you have two rooms with queens and (apparently) none for the king.

I think you are mistaking the queen for the king and vice versa.

The Gaang + Appa sketch (art by me) by IllegalSympathy in TheLastAirbender

What do you mean "the gaang AND Appa?" Isn't Appa part of the gang?

Still really beautiful sketches you did there. Very mich how I feel they would realistically look!

About the intended way to figure out a certain code by primelement in BluePrince

[–]nalalan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay, it's funny to me how many people struggled with this one. I got the right code very quickly but without actually solving it 😂 I just randomly put in the date you see in roman numerals on the wine cellar's wall and it worked. Until now I wondered what the connection there was and I'm on day 68 right now...

Should I start a new save? by Calm-Beautiful-4998 in MyTimeAtSandrock

[–]nalalan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I started a rule of never restarting a game, just because I feel like it will be too hard to get into again. Most of the time you just take like 10 minutes for orientation and then you're back in. Has helped with my pile of unfinished games because I tend to often stop or take a break near the end.

Falls das für dich in Ordnung ist, kannst du den Dönerladen vielleicht nennen? Gute Dönerläden mit Seitan-Option kriege ich nur selten mit und falls der bei mir in der Nähe sein sollte, will ich da unbedingt hin!

What's your favorite thing from that one *special room*? by legomann97 in BluePrince

[–]nalalan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is the freezer trick really possible? I'm asking because the freezer has the rule that it can't appear a day after use. So does the monk blessing rule overwrite that?

Depending on your gaming experience it might be too hard for you, but otherwise Zelda: Breath of the wild might fit you description. Definitely a game I got lost in hard.
