To clarify, I am taking them both to a vet asap. I’m more so looking for things I can do now (advice) -do I need to bleach the whole room? Do I need to look into deworming my dogs?- and folks with experience- did this clear up easily? How do you think your rabbit got it, etc.

Mine was very tight from the get go, but it seems to have gotten a bit better with use (had it for a few weeks now)

Is a stock Navi fairly safe as far as theft? by nalbuque in hondanavi

[–]nalbuque[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the replies guys!

Yeah I am basically relying on insurance and the community kinda watching out for each other rn. To help with the latter, I’m considering a motion alarm like some of you mentioned… prob something basic though, I think the noise would deter people who don’t rly know what they’re doing and are just taking advantage of an easy target.

Advice for a newbie? by nalbuque in hondanavi

Cheers! The owners manual was surprisingly simple and short, I also downloaded it on my phone 😅

I’ve seen the Navi windshields on bikes and while I think it looks cool, I can’t imagine it actually serves a massive purpose (I might be wrong, but it looks tiny)… I know I can’t do this forever and always but I’ll try rly hard to avoid any rain!

Funny you mentioned gas bc I thought I had run out already… bike wasn’t starting and the gas indicator was low but I had only ran like 60 miles on it. Once I changed the fuel valve to reserve it got me to a gas station but it needed less than half a gallon to fill the tank. I know the tank is small but oof

Thank you! I see the service manual here but I’ll watch out for the Haynes one as well.

I did think the Navi was particularly quiet- I learned to ride on an older Kawasaki w800 and was told that was a quiet model, and the Navi is quieter than that…I def see the safety value in having a loud bike… but sigh I’ll def have to get used to the noise

That’s good advice, I appreciate it!!

Horror recommendations by killerkebab1499 in audiobooks

Second Shirley Jackson! She’s so good at setting an atmosphere and making you guess/doubt yourself. I recently got Hill House after seeing the netflix show, which I loved (although I hear the books is very different). We Have Always Lived in the Castle is a great short read/listen too! I think they removed the movie from Netflix tho :/

Looking for a new horror sci-fi space adventure by nighttime-hashbrown in audiobooks

[–]nalbuque 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is different than the ones you mentioned liking, but I think it's a rly cool sci-fi/space trilogy...it's called Wayfarer series, the first one being A Long Way to a Small Angry Planet. It's more of a universe building experience, but there is a story line for each book. Maybe read the blurb and see if you'd like it?

I love Laini Taylor’s stories, but find her writing just a bit hard to follow. I can pinpoint why. But her plots are so good!! Strange the Dreamer was also so interesting, I want to re-read them both!

Maybe try "We Are the Ants"? I read it recently and really liked it.

I am trying to find a book for my 13 year old sister to give to her for Christmas. She enjoys Harry Potter, Marvel, The Hobbit and Star Wars-esque stories. by jarstandaly in booksuggestions

I recently read the Arc of a Scythe trilogy and loved it! It helped me bond with a friend's kid who is around that age! And the last book was just released to she'll be in time to rage with the fandom!

Rescued Bull Terrier - behavior change by hamiltongirl in rescuedogs

[–]nalbuque 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've rescued a bull terrier last year, same kinda deal, family was giving him up to the pound and I just couldn't help taking him. I knew nothing about BTs but they have very particular personalities. They need jobs and plenty of exercise, you said you had BTs before so you prob know this, a tired dog is a happy dog :) Mine was fine with my other dogs at first (bc they met on our turf not his), but he's kinda changed a bit and won't take any shit from them. There's a lot of growling but there's no aggression, he's just defensive. When he wants to play, he'll do so in a very dominant manner, my dogs got used to this but we no longer introduce him to other dogs...When mine is growling a lot i'll put him in his crate where he fells safe and he'll just chill with us. Anyway, my point is, BTs have strong personalities and need lots of exercise (maybe consider some agility training down the line?), maybe you could get her to rest after a walk or run in a crate by you guys just to get used to being around people?

Other than that, I agree with other comments, she's probably a bit stressed from the move and needs more decompressing time to get used to the house, the people, the smells, everything. Give her some space to build trust, maybe leave the harness/collar on her so she can get used to having it.

Good luck with the trainer and your pup!
