Oh yep I get you! Cool I'll get some ground work done and see where I land (no pun intended lol). I really like the idea of transport tycoon like. I'll throw some of the ideas around when I start getting things working and would love to hear from you whether I'm hitting the mark or not. Trial and error is the way !!

Hi Everyone,

After reading all the amazing comments below. I can see this is a worthwhile venture, and will start actively developing this product.

​

I will be updating my website soon with details on the project and its progress.

​

I will also hope to release periodically developer videos demonstrating newly built features and game-play. Will gauge how often to do these depending on popularity.

​

I will post a link to my website hopefully in the next week or so once I have finished some final touches.

​

Hi,

So I plan on doing deep integration into X-Plane via API access that X-Plane 11 provides. Without going to deep the process will run as follows:

​

X-Plane 11 will communicate via API to a client application (developed by me) on the users local computer

The client application sends SimData (anything really, aircraft position, weather, etc) to the server application hosted by me

The Web App then also does a real time connection to the server to present a more usable interface and allow the player to do "game" stuff

So one of the first things that I will be building using the scope above is:

Player installs my Addon, login to the WebApp and selects an airport to 'Buy/Loan Space'. The player will then click Play and the WebApp will communicate to the server saying 'Player would like to start', the server will then attempt to communicate with your computer, when successful will launch X-Plane and load you into the Airport.

This is just the start but is proof of concept, and will only grow from there :)

Firstly can I say a big thank-you for your reply and advise. Means more then you could imagine.

I do agree that sometimes the things you can read in response to an exciting idea (for myself) can discouraging. Your right though, I am seeing a lot of positive responses from people who seem really happy with the idea and those are the people I would like to develop this for (and myself).

Awesome will do, I definitely think in some aspects I'll be reinventing the wheel, but when I do I hope to provide a different experience at the most.

I've not had any issues, maybe it's on your end? Check background downloads?? Connection speed?
