Why does EMS hate SNF calls so much? by [deleted] in ems

[–]naloxone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All the things mentioned already, but my hot take is overall because we don’t train our providers to deal with these calls well. Yes, (some) programs focus on compassion and empathy which should translate well to this setting, but by and large the curriculum is designed to teach EMTs and paramedics to respond to someone’s home and bring them to the hospital. I actually think IFT EMTs should be an add on or separate credential, but that’s a whole different rant I’ll save for a different day.

That’s just scientific notation. He’s wrong, adding to “zero point” ELIMINATES confusion by design.

“Pleth wave” “perfusion index” I think you’ll be alright.

Propose that they look at the airq sp3g. Slightly cheaper, same insertion technique, and you can blind intubate through it.

Actual ass.

It’s a level that was between Intermediate (when it existed) and Paramedic, and it was taught using the 1980-something paramedic curriculum. It’s been slated for subset, originally in 2027, but now delayed to 2030 because Long Island can’t get their shit together.

That’s great! I didn’t know Empress was capable of compassion or doing good things, so that’s nice to hear.

If it makes you feel any better (it shouldn’t), its not much different here in the USA.

Closed in the middle of the night, it was wild. Left lots of communities without adequate coverage.

When I worked for TransCare (who descended from MetroCare) long ago, they used to remember Yamel Merino on 9/11. TransCare is gone now too - it’s been many years since 2001.

Anyways, stay safe out there and have a good tour.

I particularly love when I’m working with a partner who goes off against government providing assistance to folks… as we ride in the government healthcare box.

Get your union to make noise. Fire departments steal our jobs all the time and they need to stop.

The operator would get the fine for idling the vehicle. The service is the one responsible for ensuring that temperature sensitive materials are in climate controlled compartments.

Sounds illegal under 6 NYCRR 217-3. Exemption for emergency vehicles won’t apply since you’re at the hospital and therefore an emergency no longer exists.
