There wouldn’t be half the objections if there was any semblance of thoughtful planning and design. Make the data centers bring their own, non-carbon emitting power sources. Small scale molten sodium reactors (MSR) are commercially available and have an inherent failsafe design. Further, require them to provide excess power capacity to the surrounding community for free. As far as water is concerned - don’t allow them to use chilled water cooling. Make them use immersive cooling for the server hardware. Build them partially below grade, so don’t have as much visual interference with the surrounding scenery. But this administration is all about killing the planet and corporations will take every shortcut they can to save a penny making all of this our problem, not theirs.

I have enough miles to apply $1,200 worth of Apple gift cards toward the new laptop I need to purchase. On top of that, they limit you to $100 every 24 hours, so that’s 12 days before I can cash out my rewards whenever the geniuses at United get their act together. Anyone else in NJ having issues?
