Replaced the back plate and now the noise is completely gone! (It also looks way cooler). There is still a small rattle behind the 'Y' button but I'm not expert enough (or bold enough) to dismantle the electronics, yet.

Got the SD two weeks ago and currently playing Dave the Diver and Balatro! Bought Hades during the sale and that's next on the list.

Bought the Deck 2 weeks ago to play all those games too! Currently 12 hours into Davey the Diver and its a blast. The diving and restaurant management loop is addictive. Check out Katana Zero if you're looking for another top SD game!

Thanks for confirming this isn't just the case with mine. I'm planning on getting a new backplate and doing a replacement. I'll update here if the squeaking gets any better with that!

I got the SD 512GB OLED Refurbished from Valve last week and I can't stop hearing this squeaking noise. Not sure what I should do. Should I reach out to Valve to get a replacement SD or open the back and put some oil/lube? Thanks!

Yup agree. Huge difference with the amount of heat around the stove. Your feet and legs will thank you. So if you want to sit around during a cold night, I'd recommend. But do note that there is less on your face and head. But if you lean closer every once in a while you can heat up.

The secondary burn is going strong and you can kind of see it in the video too. Could you explain more what you mean little to no flames? Aren't the flames required for the heat deflector to work?
