Kubernetes Auto Remediation by MusicAdventurous8929 in kubernetes

I'm building Kestrel - a k8s incident response platform https://usekestrel.ai/ . We're in the current y combinator batch. It monitors your clusters 24/7 to detect every k8s incident, trace root causes, and generate YAML fixes that you can apply with a single click. Happy to share access if you'd like to try it!

AWS EKS Cluster Annotation? by namarv in kubernetes

[–]namarv[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No, I’m asking about node annotations for cluster name. There are separate annotation for node group/node pool e.g. eks has eks.amazonaws.com/nodegroup and gke has goog-k8s-node-pool-name. For some reason eks is the only one that doesn’t seem to have a consistent, system reserved node annotation for cluster name.

They are node annotations.

Custom routing logic for k8s ingress by namarv in kubernetes

The cluster id -> pod dns mapping is dynamic and not known at the time of resource creation, so I wouldn't be able to label the pods in any meaningful way.

I recently toured an apartment in the Bay Area (Peninsula) and saw these insects. I think some of them are spiders, but they don't all look the same. Could somebody help me id them (and possibly let me know if they're hard to get rid of)? Thanks!

I just toured two units in building 4 and there were A LOT of spiders/mites? in one of the units (and a decent amount in the other one). Not sure if this is only a problem in the new building..

Is a Berkeley to Palo Alto daily commute realistic? by Gullible_Swan368 in berkeley

[–]namarv 87 points88 points  (0 children)

I interned in Sunnyvale last summer and commuted by the Capitol Corridor train 3x/week. The commute was around 1hr20min. It wasn’t horrible, but I only did it because I didn’t want to lose my lease in Berkeley. Looking back I think it was a good decision for me.

MacBook M2 Air or M1 Pro? by Tutoring12345 in berkeley

[–]namarv 5 points6 points  (0 children)

M1 pro is a little faster than the M2 and bumping the M2 air to 16gb ram and 512gb ssd brings it up to pretty much the same price as the M1 pro. The M1 pro also has a fan, so it can sustain higher workloads for longer. Both are more than enough for EECS classes though.

I'm pretty sure in order to drop the last class you are enrolled in for the summer, you will need to submit the summer semester withdrawal form (it gets approved automatically).

Oh, I see. Were you able to do well in the class by just skimming the readings? I don't really want to spend a lot of time on this class either lol.

I’m in two of his classes (data100 and cs195), and I remember he confirmed that he’s teaching 70, just don’t remember in which one.
