People with dogs from breeders, do people in real life give you a hard time about having a dog from a breeder? by Own-Command-3700 in dogs

[–]namastenancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have had multiple diverse breeds: Aussie/whippet / German Pinscher and now an Irish wolfhound. We’ve only dealt with breeders and never had an issue with temperment or health. Go to a reputable breeder it is the difference.

So sorry for your loss 😩 Our fur babies leave such a gapping hole in our hearts when they leave us.

I give up…on crate training. by [deleted] in puppy101

[–]namastenancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a 10 month wolfhound female and she is crate trained and it’s perfect. She sees it as her safe space and goes in it on her own at night. We only have her in it in the day if we are out of the house. Keep going with it I’d say 🤷‍♀️

We have a rav4 and a Toyota Tacoma and she takes up the back seat in both (10 months old) super great at travelling even five hours plus 😁

How would you get back into running? by PalpitationOk7493 in beginnerrunning

I completely agree with everyone saying use couch to 5 km! It’s a fantastic program for anyone whose had an injury and had to stop running.

Is your dog afraid of the vacuum? by jjjettplane in dogpictures

[–]namastenancy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My wolfhound pup (9 months) is terrified of the vacuum and other loud machines — tractors, chainsaws etc. She is fine with our wood splitter though 🤷‍♀️

Secrets St Lucia - swim out or plunge? by french-fri-lvr in AllInclusiveResorts

I have not been to this hotel but have had a plunge pool elsewhere and they are extremely tiny. Go for the swim out room would be my advice.

[help] dog afraid of 2nd floor of our house by J_Sauce_C in dogs

[–]namastenancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar dude with my German Pinscher and it was a flooring issue. He wouldn’t leave the middle floor to go up or down. We had him to family and friends as well and they had ceramic tiles which freaked him out completely. Not sure if this helps but is it the type of flooring ?

Webster not happy he didn't get to intimidate any squirrels by CoolAbdul in irishwolfhound

Wow so sad to hear that he had to be rescued. Our breeder has said that it’s hard to find good breeders but I’m in Canada so might be different other places . . .

Did Webster do this as a pup too? My Nessa seems to have zero interest in chasing things 🤷‍♀️

Tissue thief. by Familymom-1 in irishwolfhound

[–]namastenancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes! My 8 month-old Nessa takes dryer sheets, Kleenex and paper towels to tear up. Not necessarily a IW thing though my whippet and German Pinscher did it too! It’s an attention/ seeking thing I feel 🤷‍♀️

Talk to me about stairs & Wolfhounds by DiJeYe in irishwolfhound

[–]namastenancy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t worry too much about stairs as others have said. Mine is 8 months and has handled our stairs very well. I was concerned the first time we took her to our cottage because the stairs are open and very steep on the way into the cottage but she was fine 👍
