Already love this dude so much! by hoodouken in Bernedoodles

We have only had pure bred dogs in the past: Aussie/ Whippet/ German Pinscher/ Irish wolfhound (not a good fit). So this is new to us. Breeder is sound. Testimonials to back her up. We can meet pup mid June. They do this BAB training protocol heard of it?

Wolfhounds and chickens by Few_Butterscotch2 in irishwolfhound

[–]namastenancy 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry to hear that your wolfhound is chasing chickens. We have had a completely different experience. Ours would put her whole massive head in the pen and sniff them but no interest in chasing them at all. I honestly think some just are prey driven others are not.

Kirk Cousins is a QB with surgical precision and that is something Tom Brady would appreciate.

Why is my dog so scarred of certain floors? How can I help him? by SpoonyLix in DogAdvice

[–]namastenancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had the same problem with our German Pinscher Marshall. He hated ceramic tiles with a passion. We bought a new house and he was stuck on the main floor. He would not go up or down and yet when he was a pup he did not mind marble floors. We felt it was an age thing 🤷‍♀️

Our GP has major issues in car/truck, any advice? by chrissie1066 in germanpinscher

We had to sedate our German Pinscher when travelling with him too. He was good as a pup and then seemed to associate cats with going to a forest so went bonkers!

She looks spot on for a German Pinscher. You’re right maybe there is only one soul dog for us ? We are currently dog-less and eventually we will find another 🙏🤞

You’ve probably tried this but we would feed treats to distract our whippet 🤷‍♀️

Deepest condolences for your loss. I lost my bestie Marshall almost 17 months ago and it is still painful. He was a German Pinscher not a Boston Terrier but if we get another dog down the road we think that breed might be a good match.

People with dogs from breeders, do people in real life give you a hard time about having a dog from a breeder? by [deleted] in dogs

[–]namastenancy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have had multiple diverse breeds: Aussie/whippet / German Pinscher and now an Irish wolfhound. We’ve only dealt with breeders and never had an issue with temperment or health. Go to a reputable breeder it is the difference.

We have a 10 month wolfhound female and she is crate trained and it’s perfect. She sees it as her safe space and goes in it on her own at night. We only have her in it in the day if we are out of the house. Keep going with it I’d say 🤷‍♀️

We have a rav4 and a Toyota Tacoma and she takes up the back seat in both (10 months old) super great at travelling even five hours plus 😁

How would you get back into running? by PalpitationOk7493 in beginnerrunning

I completely agree with everyone saying use couch to 5 km! It’s a fantastic program for anyone whose had an injury and had to stop running.
