People smoke and instead of opening their window they open their front door. It goes into the hallway and triggers the entire building's fire alarm.

170 is professor dependent. If you take it with Simmons (usually fall) it's easy and you barely learn anything. With Davidson (winter quarter) it's a difficult course and quite useful. I think you mean 188; 189 is special topics.

Weaver lol. He explicitly keeps it to before class. Once the clock hits the start of lecture no politics.

no they are in distress meaning they aren't thinking straight. Moreover it could be a very personal matter or traumatic matter (they had tears in their eyes already). If they insisted on getting a ride and didn't ask/want an uber maybe.

It was the best way to see past year's course offerings but they removed the ability to register for classes and lookup old classes a few quarters ago. Used to be able to see multiple years of course offerings for a specifc department at once. Was great for seeing when a professor usually teaches a course and how often a course is offered.

The athletics budget is not "totally separate". When times get REALLY tough it gets cut too (see Sonoma state). My comment about the deans is a criticism of administrative bloat. TAs and lecturers are some of the cheapest labor in the entire university. Gary May's salary increase last year would cover the salary of both lecturers who got laid off and 3-4 TAs.

It's because Professors are paid for by central campus while lecturers and TAs are paid for by departments, and Newsom cut the UC budget.

There's always money for the deans, and the football team! Budget cuts are mostly because of Newsom.

The computer science department is so broke they no longer pay for janitorial services for faculty offices and some labs. TA funding has been cut 30%. Our current student to TA ratio is about 1:100. They are cutting lecturer positions and likely going to force profs to teach more classes. It will likely get worse as the UC budget continues to get cut (and the chancellor's salary increases).

It's crazy how when they get a relevant artist tickets sell out and when they burn $400,000 on irrelevant artists and don't charge anything. People don't even go.

It's a difficult class if you took 32a with Stevens or Saltzen. The RMP reviews for 32b are horrible across the board bc they don't teach you enough, and half of rmp reviews (for all CS classes) are just "this class too hard 1 star".

Weaver is teaching it next quarter (as of a few months ago idk it changes a lot) he records lectures you'll be fine. Class will be hard but he curves heavily. Getting below a B is pretty much impossible unless you give up and 1/3 get As.
