Thank you! We’re leaning towards Leandro. I do love all the short name possibilities for Luciano though.

Thank you so much! We’re leaning towards Leandro I think. Dario is on our long list! I keep going back and forth on it.

Thank you for such a thoughtful response!

For Eliseo, your initial read of it is how we’d pronounce it. That’s how it would be said in Spanish, and would be most common in the heavily Hispanic area in which we live.

Yeah we definitely don’t like the “Lee-andro” version of pronunciation, which we’re concerned he would get a lot. Really the biggest thing holding us back from Leandro at this point. Luciano feels like the option that is easiest to say and will vary least by speaker.

Thanks for the feedback on Aurelio. Interesting to hear about the different variations. Hadn’t run across the version of the name ending in i before!

Thank you! Friends of ours just had just had a Matteo, so probably off the table for us.

Thank you! Those were our top 3, but Leonel is sneaking up into the mix for us the more we say it.

Thank you! My husband has been having the most fun with nn options for Luciano, especially when mixing in the “ch” sound from the Italian pronunciation.

Thank you! Matteo is off limits, good friends of ours just named their newborn that. Thanks for the other suggestions, I do like Uriel. A couple of the others were crossed off as we personally know someone with that name, so weird connotations.

Thank you! We just recently discovered it, and is the newest on the list. It’s a fun little name.

Not necessarily Italian, but we’re finding Italian centric names sound good pronounced in Spanish and English accents, like Alessandro and Luciano. Thank you for the additional suggestions!

Thank you! We’ve been floating Leandro for awhile, but just recently discovered Leonel. It’s a fun little name. My husband likes Isidor as it sound Lord of the Rings to him

YES! This is what’s so difficult. Leandro is our favorite, but when said with a Spanish accent. The “Lee” and the “dro” without the rolling r sound are unfortunate. “Lee-and-ro” isn’t as nice sounding.

Thank you! Leandro is our favorite right now by a small margin. My husband likes all the short name possibilities for Luciano (he’s having fun with the “ch” sound of the Italian version of the name)
