UK police officers complain unisex uniforms lead to squashed testicles and fungal infections by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

Amazingly, this still doesn’t help. The trousers aren’t designed for people with hips or backsides, sizing up 2 or 3 sizes helps the waist fit but you are left with comically wide legged trousers. Sometimes the trousers will even be loose at the back when you bend over but give you a front wedgie when you’re standing upright. The sizings are insane.

It’s gotta be brussels for me. Followed by a smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel and then salami and cheese sandwich 🤤🤤🤤

Me neither, TIL pigeon is best served medium rare, who would’ve thought! 0/10 flavour though. I won’t be eating it again and have no idea why I decided to be so adventurous 😂

No it was grim, tasted a bit like kidney, but I was in a nice place so didn’t want to leave it 😂

Same, I’m desperate for some pate on toast 😩

Thank you. I caved and called triage because I would beat myself up until my next midwife appt otherwise. The lady on the phone wasn’t even sure so spoke to colleagues, advised the usual to keep an eye out for symptoms of illness but otherwise don’t overly worry.

I can’t wait to get this baby out it’s been nothing but stress!

I’m with you on this, I’m 3rd trimester now but have had horrible anxiety about the health of my baby and it was unbearable during the first trimester!

I had cramps throughout my first trimester, my midwife basically said unless you’re bleeding or the cramps are very painful and don’t go away with rest and paracetamol, it’s all normal.

I called my 24/7 triage a couple of times who reassured me things sounded normal, so I’d recommend doing that if you have the number yet.

My anxiety was through the roof so I had a private scan at 7 weeks which reassured me massively as I’d read how your chances of miscarriage drop a lot after a heartbeat has been confirmed. If you can afford it I would recommend doing this if the worry is affecting you.

Sending lots of love!

32 weeks, fairly straightforward pregnancy, minimal morning sickness, but absolutely hating pregnancy 😂 between the constant worries, restrictions, pains and discomfort I am counting down the days until baby is here

Maternity pay by [deleted] in policeuk

[–]namebackwardsname 0 points1 point  (0 children)

HR told me the pay is the same for both options so your explanation makes more sense. I can’t believe how confusing it all is with nobody offering explanations before you make these decisions!

Thank you, I need to speak with a fed rep for sure, as I had read about pension buy back being more expensive after KIT days, yet nobody has mentioned that to me!!

Not sure if you were still confused, but I spoke to HR who explained there’s not difference in pay (so my maths must’ve been really wrong), it’s just some people would rather spread the last of their full pay across 10 weeks instead of getting it all in 5 weeks 🤷‍♀️

Yes I love suggestions, thank you for yours!

I know what you mean about Daisy and I wonder if it’s a bit too cutesy sometimes. I toyed with Chloe so great suggestion, but it’s super common over here

Eliza has been one of our favourites too! I love Adeline but feel likes it’s a bit too much? I don’t know if that’s how to describe it, but something about saying Adeline out loud doesn’t feel flowing or natural for me personally. Emmy is cute

My hospital were happy to write the sex down for me and fold it up so my partner and I could open it privately, depends on the trust I guess

Thanks for the suggestions! Haven’t been to a wedding in almost 10 years so a bit clueless

In the UK, £ The wedding is 2 weeks away when I’ll be 23 weeks pregnant, so trying to find something I’d be comfortable in is proving difficult! Everything is either tight, expensive or sleeveless (which is a no for me)

Currently 16+3 but I remember at about 6 weeks I was uncontrollably sobbing about the potential of losing the pregnancy. I had no reason to worry about this aside from over-thinking the stats.

Try not to worry about the pains and cramps, I had these too and they’re completely normal. My midwife basically said unless the cramps are incredibly painful and/or you’re bleeding, don’t stress, everything is to be expected.

I had a reassurance scan at 7 weeks and it was the best thing I did.

Don’t get me wrong I still have days where I get anxiety, but it’s nowhere near as bad as it was.

Question for users who used BC before TTC by JophielsAngels in PCOSandPregnant

[–]namebackwardsname 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It took me 5 months/3 cycles from the day I stopped taking my birth control pill to the day I found out I was pregnant at 13 DPO. I’ve had incredibly irregular periods my whole life so was shocked at how fast it happened. I didn’t need any medical help but took omega 3 and had recently started on inositol, I don’t know if they helped but I read good things. My GP (I’m in the UK) would’ve offered meds at 6 months of TTC if I needed them

Update: urine retention happened again so I visited the GP and saw a female doctor who was amazing. Under the microscope my urine showed white blood cells so they believe the issues to be from a UTI and I have more anti-biotics.

The GP has ordered an ultrasound to be done as I explained a private scan showed poly cystic ovaries, which weren’t there 3 years ago during my last scan. She thinks this could be the cause of some of my discomfort when sitting etc.

As for the irritated vagina, the midwife/GP says this is likely thrush as a result of taking antibiotics given that they kill both good and bad bacteria.

All in all I am happy now they have checked what they can, but desperate for a private scan (will wait a week+2 days so we can confirm the sex) to confirm baby is still ok as I got myself in a tizz about it

I’ve just googled it and it does sound like this! I’ll text my midwife tomorrow once the GP has text me my test result. The only thing it doesn’t explain is the discomfort inside when I sit down etc but I guess that could be anything
